Damn, that's a lot of coin for a machine. What's the average paycheck common folks take home?

the minimum wage is about R$700.

People from south america have it rough to buy this consoles :(. In Argentina the PS4 will be around 8500 AR$. The only option I see is importing the console :/

that's precisely what we do in brazil. everyone imports games and consoles.

Who will pre-order a console for US$ 995 here in Brazil ?

Sony should send the brazilian consoles to paraguay, where I can buy them with lower taxes.

Who? Let me tell you a secret about Brazil: there are tons of rich people here, this is the most fucked country in the world, there are people eating lobsters in big yatchs in Angra dos Reis, and children starving in favelas half a mile away from the rich people marina.

We are a 180 million people country with the 7th biggest economy in the world, and people still die of starvation while some others drive around in Ferraris.

If they open the pre-orders, I garantee you they would have at least 100K consoles sold untill launch.

I know all of that because I'm brazilian.

The number of people who can afford PS4one at launch here is very small.  Sony wouldn't be wrong to prioritize other markets over Brazil if that means more consoles for countries where people have means to buy it.

I could buy the console at launch even at this ridiculous US$ 995 price(Xbone).  But I won't do so because  78% of taxes on imported goods is a steal.

Barking at the wrong tree dude, I will not buy the Xbox One, I am going to buy a PS4 and that is that. I agree with you that the import taxes are absurd, but I sure would like to see pre-orders from Sony.br, and I am very curious about the price too.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

The minimum is R$700, around U$D300, but the average is not that. I see around shops and factories, people do whatever it takes to take home at least 600-700 U$D. The lowest is diferent than the average, do you agree?

Man. In 2013 PS4 will be avaliable ONLY in US and Europe!! Brasil is for 2014.

Not true, if it was, more shame on SONY.BR, since the Xbox One is at stores in November here in Brazil. That is just plain stupid man, let me buy the damn thing, Jesus Christ.

You have any additional information to prove what you are talking about?

Proof? No. But they stated that they would do that, right here:

http://omelete.uol.com.br/playstation-4/games/sony-quer-lancar-ps4-simultaneamente-no-brasi/

Mark Stanley talked about 2013 in this one.

Also, here:

http://games.terra.com.br/e3/ps4-sera-lancado-no-brasil-diz-executivo-da-sony-para-america,bb791c1604d3f310VgnVCM5000009ccceb0aRCRD.html

In this one he said "maybe at the same day as the US launch".

Of course, I cannot prove this right now, but, I am not your enemy dude, I just wanted to pre-order the PS4 in my home contry, sue me.

This is something that does not depend on the Sony BR. They are trying, but they need permission from Sony International. They certainly are at the moment trying to get the best price possible, but in Brazil it is not easy. You know that.

Yeah I hope we an do it without problems, here in Argentina we can't import things, we have a lot of restrictions... :/

I had thought taxes had come down a bit from 5-10 years ago. Or did they and still that high in Brasil?

They dropped a little bit on refrigerators and stoves, also a little bit in cars, around 3% less than it used to be.

But, overall, IT IS TAX PAYER HELL in here. We have 500U$D PS3s and stuff. Games are cheaper now, I have paid 70U$D for The Last of Us and old games drop the price (it is a brand new thing here the discounted old game). I have paid 25U$D for Fifa12 three weeks ago.

Shame.  I always liked Brasil and hope the people there can get some reform as lowering taxes would make for a more dynamic economy.  Even staying at high levels like 20% would see a difference. Last resort can come visit the US and our 6%-12% taxes on goods. Bring a spare suit case and load up this holiday. ;)

"At the end, Mark Cerny, the Hand of the God (aka Kaz), showed PlayStaiton 4 running Knack. He announced Brazil will receive the console at the same day than US and that they want to sell it below R$1000 (~$460)."

that would be insane. the PS4 would be half the price of the Xbox1?

of course, i just throwed the minimum because I don't know exactly what the average is.

p.s. you said R$ twice.

Confirmed at E3 and previous at Sony BR news that the console will be release in Brasil at the same date than US.

PS4 will have a WW launch... the first Sony console to have that.
