360s are made in brazil, and got a nice price reduction, so the same will eventually happen with the X1

Jack Tretton said that but I call bullshit... R$800 is close to $399... Tretton thinks that they will be able to exempt from government taxes and fees. He needs to be more reasonable like R$1200 is more plausible even so I believe in R1800. |
Anything under R$ 1500 (US$ 678) would be surprising.
Since the factories are alredy here. It shouldn't take so long for MS and Sony to start production here. I hope so.
I don't know but here in Argentina the Wii U is about 7000 AR$ wich is a mighty lot for a single console. I think if you translate it to dollars assuming it's about 4,50 dollars an AR$: 1600 US$. Altough this problems arise thanks to the "Cepo Cambiario" where we can't buy dollars and the dollar on the parallel market is about 8 AR$ for a single dollar :( it even reached as high as 10 US$ once. So with this in mind anyone knows how much the ps4 will be here? I am guessing about 8000 AR$... :(

everyone just be grateful for living in north america, because the prices for gaming in south america is HIGH! im guessing minimum wage is higher so maybe it balances out?

Pretty cheap considering the Wii launched for $1195 USD and the X360 for $1495 USD. Of course the X360 came with PD Zero, Kameo and PGR3, but that Wii price... man.
Anyways it's cheaper and easier to import from Amazon even with all the fees and taxes. You will probably be getting an XB1 for less than $800 USD through there.

You would be paying more if you imported it yourself.
US$ 499 + US$ 80 of shipping = R$ 1279
R$ 1279 + 60% of import taxation = R$ 2046
R$ 2046 + 18% of ICMS = R$ 2414
Final price would be R$ 2414 = US$ 1092
* ICMS varies depending on which state you live in
Microsoft must have made some agreement with the goverment to reduce taxes a little bit or got a discount for the shipping costs.
