How original.

Just as original as Player driven games and arcade experiences.

Games have the power to tell a story similar to Movies but here we can be in that world and interact unlike movies. This is the great thing about Games which so many people forget and think games are just fun and time pass only, like play once/for some time then forget it and go for new one. A real passionate gamer(in my view) wants to feel the game and revisit whenever he wants to be in that world and feel the story again and again just like we watch old movies.

I'm really sad that most of the gamers today are after only multiplayer/shooters/OpenWorld/RPG elements and hate story/adventure and filmy experience which immerses and involves us more deeply than having fun.

Get more comfortable with indie games, that's the only avenue to seek if you're looking for innovation. Publishers will rarely if ever take outrageous risk on mutli-million dollars productions and they shouldn't be expected to when 9/10 sells like crap.

As a Londoner i can't wait to play this. I loved the London level in Uncharted 3. Steampunk is also a very good and interesting genre

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

Bioshock in the past had the story telling integrated into the world, not very cinematic IMO. But if Bioshock Infinite became more cinematic then I'm disappointed.

This. Devs trying to tell good stories should revisit some old games, like Half Life 1 and 2, and see how a game can tell a story that is integrated into gameplay, instead of trying to be "cinematic".

Yes. There really should be only one way to tell good stories... ¬_¬

What more, there really should be only one game genre.

My interest in this game died right there.

nothing will change this generation, it will get worse. Gameplay will get less and less important to the aaa developers....

Well Gameplay for most genres is almost perfect, there is not that much that can be added to improve the experience. As long as the mechanics are fun I can live with it

Wow its incredible how ignorant some people are. How could you be this way without even having seen anything from the game. Even if you think the mechanics and kind of game is not the genre you prefer. But sometimes you should try something that is not that appealing to you and might end up liking.

I never liked Open World games and phantasy but still ended up liking Skyrim. Maybe if you´d be less ignorant and more open you might like games you never thought you would.

No. There are many ways to tell a good story. Cinematic being one of them.

While I'm not saying that approach is inherently wrong, it does bother me that devs are taking easy path with it and not trying to do more of Environmental storytelling. Of course, later is probably order(s) of magnitude harder to do properly, so I can't say I don't understand why they're taking cinematic approach so often.
