Forums - Sony - New Details on "The Order 1886"

nothing will change this generation, it will get worse. Gameplay will get less and less important to the aaa developers....

I so love when people push a false dichotomy in order to further their own agenda.  As we all know, it is physically impossible to have a great story and good gameplay in the same game.  Simply can't be done.  I think Newton made a Law about it.

Of course, we haven't even seen the gameplay from The Order yet but what does that matter?

I like the setting; would love more games to be set in the UK. Or any place that isn't the US come to think of it!

The trailer didn't really blow me away though. Still, one to keep an eye on.

I will certainly keep an eye in this game. I will have to see gameplay to judge.

Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits

But seriously, devs these days are either making fpses or "filmic experiences." It's getting stale. This is why I despise the Uncharted series.... it does this the most to people's praise.

Never said anything about that. But games like this have almost no replay value. I just can't take it anymore millions of shooters and  millions of story driven cinematic games this new gen. atleast it looks like it (From AAA dev's). Also you can't deny that the gameplay often is behind cause of concentrating too much on movie bullsh*t.

I agree with you about some things getting stale.  They're still making games where your primary action is to jump, for cat's sake, and that got stale ten years ago.  Still, as someone who reads a lot, anything with an interesting story and characters has my attention, and I'm certainly not going to assume that a game has bad gameplay because it has other elements.

So, I'm assuming you haven't played The Last Of Us?

cant wait for this game. i like these types of games a lot. this is the most interesting game on the PS4 for me

I love the setting, and it seems they're trying to make the game as atmospheric as possible. Good stuff.

and what did Last of Us in the gameplay department add? Nothing new, exactly.
