Forums - Sony - PS Vita Remote Play for PS4: The Vita's Last Hope?

Tagged games:

Here's the trouble: the amount of people interested in being able to play their PS4 games anywhere is going to be only a subset of the PS4 userbase. This means that beyond being able to sell the PS4 itself, the PS4's library would have to grow yet that much stronger to convince people to buy both a PS4 and a Vita (if their only interest in the Vita was as a PS4 remote-station), so it will take a while for the PS4 to become compelling enough to incentivize a Vita purchase on top of that, and the PS4 has still yet to even release.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Vita will be just fine. I have faith in Sony that they will support this handheld, heck they just announced a new game for next year developed by their own studio, Freedom Wars.

except that vita needs games for last year.

I assume you mean this year? If so then we still have Ys: Celceta, Killzone: M, Soul Sacrafice, Dragons Crown, Toukiden, Muramasa Rebirth, Final Fantasy X/X-2, Destiny of Spirits, Valhalla Knights 3, God Eater 2, Mind=0, and tons of Indies.

Wait, I will be able to play PS4 games out of home? Now that's interesting. Unfortunately, my Internet connection sucks, but in the long term it can even become possible.

Working with all games is the most important part. Remote Play on PS3 is horrible. It only works with some games and the input lag is giant, so a improvement in latency it's much needed too.

If I can used this away from home, then I will rebuy a vita. I am still skeptical on how well this is going to work though.

No, I really meant last year as in: they should be released last year. And how many of those games will really help vita's situation?

How many of those games have been released? A lot. How much of a difference has it made to Vita's sales? Very little. The Vita needs system-selling games.

While im happy with what you're saying in general. Leave mind 0 and God eater 2 out of this. Those are for japan only, for now at least. I would run laps of joy if God eater 2 was coming out in the west this year, but unfortunely i doubt it.

Save the Vita from what? Has anyone seen how well the PSP continues to sell? The Vita will take its place eventually. Oh, I understand, the thought process of a lot of people with any console is, "but it's not selling RIGHT NOW so it will NEVER EVER SELL." Okay, let that be you mantra if you want. From what I can see, with PSP developers in Japan beginning to transition to Vita production, it's just a matter of time.
