Forums - Sony - Ellen Page claims Naughty Dog “ripped off” her likeness

See, this is why they should have made Ellie a little black girl. Then all we'd be talking about is how people are calling ND racist for making a little black girl use so much profanity.

Lolololol. Your post, although intended to defend ND, actually incriminates them even more.  There track record keeps looking worse and worse because you're showing their other offenses. But you seem to forgetting the most obvious one from Uncharted and that is Nathan Drake. Look up Nathan Drake and Nathan Fillion. Again their likeness is uncanny, and again their names are the same.

Their likeness isn't uncanny.  Uncanny, meaning perfect, and the likeness isn't anywhere near close to perfect.  He looks as similar to Drake as Jason Statham looks to Cutter.  Bruce Cambpell is a closer similarity to Sully than Nathan Fillion is to Drake or even Ellen Page is to Ellie.

I confused Last of Us with Beyond Two Souls because those characters look so similar.

You don't see Nathan Fillon getting all hot and bothered about Nathan Drake.

Like I said, if she wasn't starring in her own game in the same time frame, she shouldn't be mad. But it makes a world of difference when Naughty Dog is bumping dicks with her work. Ellen Page has every right to be upset when her work is potentially compromised.

I respectfully disagree.  Ellie looking like Ellen Page won't make me less likely to buy Beyond: Two Souls.  Ellie looking like Ellen Page makes me go "oh yeah, I remember her...that chick from Juno.  Isn't she ironically in a game coming up?"  As far as I'm concerned, it's a publicity bump for her, and Beyond if she just lets it happen.  When people started clamoring for Fillon to play Nathan Drake in a potential movie, I looked him up and checked out Firefly...I may not have done that otherwise.

hmmm, I think my point is being overlooked. Let me try this again.

More than anything, the timing of The Last Of Us and the character Ellie appearing so close to a game where Ellen Page is acting as her own flesh in blood is just flat out wrong, even if it was pure coincidence.

So I understand why she can be upset when she put so much work in a game just to have another game unintentionally steal some of her thunder. We are human after all.

You are using the internet and you have access to google yet you give me a false definition of uncanny. They do have an uncanny resemblance...

There's nothing wrong with coincidence.  It's just that, coincidence.  If it's not coincidence, it's not a big deal because people who were going to buy Beyond prior to The Last of Us coming out are either just as likely to buy it or more likely to buy it due to the likeness.  If she's upset, yeah, I get that for the purposes of all the hard work she put into Beyond, but it's kind of petty really--she should be above this.  You don't see the actual actress who played Ellie upset because her likeness was disregarded.

For the record, I'm not defending Naughty Dog (Ellie does look a hell of a lot like Ellen Page), nor am I defending Page.  There's nothing to defend because this is a non-story.  It's either a coincidence or intention that has no effect on anything anywhere whatsoever.

Your point was heard loud and clear.  I just disagree with it.

OLh ellen, you are walking on thin ice baby, I liked Juno, but do not test my love for Nauthy Dog, you will always lose.
Your game comes out on my birthday, and I intended to buy it. But now, I just do not know. The Last of Us was the best game I ever played in my life, I don´t care if Nauthy dog killed and made hamburgers outta of your first born son, IT WAS WORTH IT.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

The two aren't THAT similar. Yeah, some features are alike, but isn't that looking face a bit generic anyways?

This is so obvious that I thought it was official.
