I am fairly new to this website and one thing I have noticed is the Playstaion Bias. It appears the main bulk of the people are PS fan boys and every article/comment about Xbox or Wii comes to great criticism. Now before every Playstation fan boy comments and criticize me only to strengthen my argument. I want to explain my meaning on the matter. I don't dislike Sony I think Sony is a very good electronic company who makes good products. I just feel like Sony’s fans are a bit too vocal about their competition.

 WIth the next generation of consoles now revealed, I have witnesses a whole new level of fanboyizm over the past several weeks. All I have heard is Xbox sucks, why would anybody buy one of those shitty consoles, this POS doesn't even play used games, always on? WTF.., etc. I was just wondering why this is? I hardly ever hear Xbox fans criticize the PS4, well at least at bad as the PS crowd. Even if some Xbox kid does he would get blasted off the website by a page of pissed off PS boys.

What the PS fans don’t realize is that competition is good for the industry. Competition creates better games, cheaper prices, and better overall product for the consumer. It forces the different companies to always be improving their product or they will lose customers. With that in mind, know that the PS4 is where it is today, because Sony has the Xbox and the WII as a valid competition partner. So people can bring down the other consoles, but remember good quality and compl prices comes from competitive competition.

I mostly want to know here is how much of this website is Playstation, Xbox or WII fan. I have created a poll to determined how much of the population on VG Chartz are Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony, or PC fans. 

I did a team thing a while back and from the people who actually comment it was about 40% Sony 40% Nintendo and 20% Microsoft. However yes the most vocal members was in fact on the Sony team though.

I do want to point out that this isn't just a VGC thing.  Vocal Sony fans just seem to be on forums more.  Not sure why though.

Indeed, it appears to be a dedicated gaming website thing. 

Go to sites that do all aspects of technology (no just gaming) like Engadget and th Verge and you get a much better balance of posters on their forums...

I think Jay's stats are pretty reliable. 40-40-20 sounds about right.

But I just want to add that a lot of the venom directed at Microsoft these past few weeks was very much deserved and not simply a result of Sony/Nintendo fans criticizing the competition for no good reason. I'm sure some fans took the opportunity to pile on Microsoft once the gloves were off, but the majority of video game fans were genuinely disappointed with Microsoft's business strategy and expressed themselves accordingly.
