OK, I'm hearing lots of attacks on XB1's DRM.  Is it truly as bad as people say it is or is this still rumour?

They no longer have DRM. They removed it yesterday so no worries.

You're right to be suspicious, there is no DRM. Whoever told you that was a liar and you should punch them in the gooch.

Whew was wondering...

I get that DRM needs to happen.  Sorry but people installing copies for $3 or even less if you have a rich buddy who likes to buy every game.  I just think everybody needs to get serious on it.  The major software makers need to make money...and lots of it if we're going to keep getting high quality games.
