Forums - Gaming - What is up with the "Two Face" look to the One and the PS4?

It started with the PS3 slim and I guess they just got carried away after that.

The latest revision to the PS3, has a logical reason for having it that way, so that you can slide open the system to insert the disk, so the part over the system that slides it is easier to do.  The system looks like it has 3 segments from top down.  The PS4 and ONE look like they picked it for aesthetic reasons I can't figure out, so I was asking to see if anyone might be able to explain why.  As I had posted I keep thinking that the system comes apart on the divide there.

An here "Two Face" refers too the Batman villian Two Face, and how each part of the face looks different:

Around the Network

Yeah, I wondered that myself. When the X1 was first shown, I thought it was hideous. Then the PS4 was shown... and I think it looks terrible for the same reason (though slightly less bad because the difference between the upper and lower parts isn't as drastic as the X1). The Wii U is, IMO, the best looking next gen console by far. I guess I'm just confused about the design choice for the PS4 and X1, unless there is a practical reason why this was done...

The two colors always remind me of these kind of thinks :

The 1st slim is shiny on the  sides and the button face. They just got carried away after that. Looking at the 2nd slim photo one now does have two different finishes on face.

Go Team Venture! I still don't get the Wii, PS Move,  and Kinect.
