Forums - Gaming - What to do about Xbox One

Microsoft will not change there stance on 24 hrs or drm and 499. There in it for the long hall and like me when I bought a ps3 for me and my bro for full price, I did not care. I'm sure the xbox die hards feel the same way. I'm just not sure how they can deal with the expense of that system for its lifetime. Not to mention that its the only system ever made that once Microsoft decides to end the servers for xbox one it is essentially a paper weight. I mean 15 years down the road when we are on to the next systems. Ps4 will still be working for singleplayer games 20 years from now. Xbox one who knows ? It's a mighty big gamble I mean ps1 and ps2 I still play the games along with a lot of people. Ps3 and ps4 will also be the same as far as playing the games you collect. A real gamer would not see value in xbox one, because essentially your only renting a game and when its gone, its gone forever. You cannot load a disc and play a game( a basic fundamental to any console). Its this freedom that is being taken away! Sad Sad day for xbox fans. I'm a diehard sony guy but I feel for you guys, really.

I believe that with the power of the cloud all of those games are ported over to their next system,or they just enable the ability to play offline on the X-1..It is however, too soon to tell and decide , but doing so would mean having a tsunami of lawsuits on top of MS.

By this line of logic, people should have stopped supporting the Ps3 after the horrible start it had back in 2006. I mean, overpriced, no games, difficult tech to develop games on, no plans for online interactivity. It was a step backward for gamers. But hey, no.

You could just wait until the Xbox One is out in the market. Reserve your judgment and your "boycott" plans for then.

I am ok with high price, I did not complained about lack of games, never said anything about being difficult to develop to (DID YOU READ?)

I am talking about this Kinect-always-on-going-on-line-every-24-hours-big-brother-Bull-Shit (Excuse my french)

Iam talking about paying full price for something you really don't own.

I am talking mandatory things as kinect, as internet. You have no choice.

I am talkind about the end of property and maybe privacy (who knows) as we know it

Did Sony do any of this with the PS3 back in 2006? NO! It was too expensive, that was all.

Being overpriced is the only thing I don't consider a problem. The PS3 eventually lower the price so people could afford it and Sony didn't go bankrupt.

They didn't in 2006, but they did instate restrictive DRM later:

Why weren't people boycotting at this point?

People did stop supporting the PS3, that price and comments like "get another job" was a slap in the face and it got even worse when people find out X360 had the same graphic quality (even better in some cases) a lot of people switched to X360.

I don't like Sony doing that either, but DRM is just one of things that are wrong with the XBone.

I agree. However, the fact that no large boycotts against Sony happened with PSN Pass makes it look (to Microsoft) that people don't like the XBOne, but not because of DRM. Any shift to limit consumers rights need to be boycotted, whether it's one huge fuckup like the XBOne, or something snuck in like PSN Pass.

Yeah, true, but that wasn't nowhere near close to the XBone. I mean one thing is being arrogant and think that your product is going to be so coveted that people will pay no matter what. And some other thing is NO USED GAMES, NO MORE OPTIONAL KINECT, NO MORE OPTIONAL INTERNET, BEING UNDER SURVAILLANCE EVERY 24 HOURS, HAVING THAT THING LISTENING AND WATCHING AT ALL TIMES. What kind of market research showed that customers wanted that? Who wants any of those things?

I just hope they support the 360 a little more than they did with the original Xbox so they keep some of the good old times rolling

Exactly, but they did once the console was out in the market. That's the point I'm getting at. That end up forcing the company to make better policies if they want to survive.

Fix'd.

You obviously fixed it wrong, because you didn't understand my post. I wasn't referring to the "they supported when price" :3

They still have the best online service.
They still have the best games. BY FAR!
They still have the best entertainment apps.
They still have the best sports services.

The Xbox One is the best total package.

It is just some geeks on the internetz who are complaining. And some users are pretty vocal as you can see here:

Oh and game sharing >>>> used games. No competition.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
