My argument isn't slanted at all. Kids don't want a dedicated gaming handheld. They want something that can play games and do everything else. The iPod Touch / iPhone is taking the place of dedicated handhelds. Maybe not in other countries but in the US it is. The 3DS has been out 2 years and has only managed to sell 9 million in NA? That's terrible.

It's sad really because i went from a dedicated gaming handheld (PSP) to iPod Touch a few years ago and i though it was amazing at the time but now decided to get a PS Vita. I don't know why anyone would want a phone for gaming, they are awful for gaming. They have many performance problems when it comes to proper games (it can't even play GTA III properly!) and lack buttons which are crucial to gaming. I also feel iOS/ Android games lack the gameplay and depth of games on the 3DS/ Vita, it's something my generation is really missing out on and it's a shame as i would pick a dedicated handheld over a phone any day. Why have a "jack of all trades" device when you can buy something that does it's specific purpose well? What phone could create the same expieriences that are possible on 3DS and Vita? None

Anything is possible in the long run.

Look at the PS3 comeback for example.

It's just that simple.

The reason people pick smartphones over dedicated gaming handhelds is because of the fact its just so much easier to have one device that does everything in your pocket. Games on smartphones are becoming more sophisticated but even that isn't the point. Most people want to fire up a game on the go for 15-20 min and be done with it. It's a small minority that actually want to play a full fledged time consuming game when they are on the go.

I understand that but I guess i feel different on it, but those games just don't statisify me, at least not yet, i guess the controls of these games is my real problem here since i hate touch screen only controls. I can't even enjoy Minecraft on my phone, since i hate the controls and yet i love it on the PC.

There is no substitute for real, quality depth games, using REAL gaming controls. Using the faux "controller" touchscreen layout that I've seen people use on cell phones for certain games (like SFIV), is laughable. I don't really care about mobile/tablet gaming either way, but I still say it's a slanted argument. Of course more people are going to own cell phones or mp3 players or tablet computers, than they are a dedicated portable console. But then again, also consider that the DS/DSi also still has millions of owners, and that DS has still continued to get some games itself. 3DS switch-over rate is still ongoing, as the console gets more affordable and more and more games come out for it. By the time Pokemon X/Y releases, I'm willing to bet sales will jump for the holidays big time.

This, not to mention. Kids?? really thats what some wanna base it on, that tells me alot right there. From my experience kids suck at liking things, and most dont know any better either.

Take the popularity of Justin Bieber, One Direction , and Call of Duty for example.....
