With the right type of exclusives their fortunes could change very easily. |
Which exclusives do you see them doing this?

Ha not a chance. And please stop saying "M$" for Microsoft, it is childish.
The TV function is somewhat innovative, although I thought it was HDMI pass through only. This was a buzz kill for me to a certain degree...
I also get the attempts to make digital contents not FULLY worthless in terms of trade/resell. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but when your competition still offers fully re-sellable discs its becomes challenging. Microsoft will do their best to buy 3rd party exclusive DLC, timed exclusives, etc.
But PS4 seems to have a lot of momentum from people on the internet. It has the lower price for people NOT viewing it on the internet. So I'm not sure how you could consider Microsoft's position a good one right now.
That being said I think Microsoft is in for the long haul. Just like with Windows phone they will not give up. They keep trying to find cracks in the armor in every market they serve (for example, low light picture quality, etc.). They really are trying to take over anything in your life that involves a [lcd] screen. Phones, tablets, PC, and now TV console. If there is one company ambitious [and rich] enough to do it, it's probably Microsoft.

Dude. Really. M$ is childish? If anything it could be considered flattering because Microsoft DOES have a lot of money!
I think the entire internet is suffering from finger fatigue. Everyone is starting to use shortened words even in email (not just texts).

I presume you were addressing maverick40. I don't think maverick40 is upset at the shortening, just the $ in there, so I was posting and doing a tweak.

OK point taken, but I was saying since it was HDMI pass through it was kind of a buzz kill anyways. No need to sell me further on it lol.
I just don't see Microsoft in a position to eliminate Sony at this point. And Nintendo might just make a comeback still. They have a fanbase that is perpetual it seems (including part of me).
And for those who say Sony didn't learn at all. Sure they did. 400 is a lot better than 5-600. No crazy complex CPU. Etc. Not saying they will "win" or do well even, just saying they are approaching the PS4 a little different than the PS3 and some credit should be given for that.
@DevilRising
My argument isn't slanted at all. Kids don't want a dedicated gaming handheld. They want something that can play games and do everything else. The iPod Touch / iPhone is taking the place of dedicated handhelds. Maybe not in other countries but in the US it is. The 3DS has been out 2 years and has only managed to sell 9 million in NA? That's terrible.
