Well..Sharing a game with 10 to play one at a time...that's still going to make a difference...

Yeah... that's the good part... I can finish single-player game when my friend is not playing it and he can finish my single-player games... that's cool.

The sad part is for MP... I will never play with my friend if I don't have another copie of the game but not a big deal.. I can't do that today

LOL!

That is no where near the same....

It is... the ideia of my friend was with my game... so just it can play it... they make the plan to works like in real-life share games.

A example...

My roommate have Halo 4 so I ask to him to share it... I get the game and started to play... while I'm playing he can't play... so I stop to play so it can take the game and play again.

The exactly same ideia... just more easy because it is online without physical contact.

I'm still kinda peeved we don't know more of the gritty, in depth detailing of how Family Share works, he seems to be pushing this feature without really explaining the depths of it. At least we have a confirmation now that only one person can play at a time.

I was right

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Major Nelson said it will check with engineers about a ideia started on GAF to implement a offline play option (withou share, cloud, internet, etc) to resolve the Xbone problem.

Seems a cools ideia and can make happy everyone.

I like the fact that Nelson sticks to his guns, but he was actively trying to spin stuff there on purpose. Xbox One does enhance the experience, true, but it also does restrict, and Major Nelson was trying to push that "restricting" idea away.

Yeah pretty much. A bit disappointed that Larry wasn't as straight up as I'd hoped.

The family share plan is a really great idea. I didn't expect to buy a copy of BF, COD, etc and have one of my friends play online with me at the same time for no cost. But for single player games this is awesome.

Guys... the Major Nelson made a mistake.

It is 2 people at the same time. But when 2 people at the same time its for singleplayer only. Also the other 8 people are not locked out from playing other games in the shared library. DLC is also shared.

So if this is true, and this is a shifting sands thing so it may not be the final word. Then the family tree is the same in effect as ordinary disc sharing. Each has it's own advantages:

Disc sharing: you can loan the disc to a total stranger, you can loan the disc to an unlimited number of people. If you loan the disc to someone who lives a long way away then you have to send them the disc, which is an expense and time lag and an inconvenience as you can't play while someone else has the disc, and if the disc is far from you you can't just grab it for a day or 2 and then hand it back. This trades off convenience for greater freedom

Family tree: Only 10 pre-selected friends and family can access the game (one at a time). If you have an 11th friend they are out of luck, if you make new friends, they are out of luck. One of the neat features of the family tree was the possibility that the owner and one other person could play at the same time, allowing for at least some online play with family. Without that the awesomeness factor of family tree falls away to almost nothing, IMO. This trades off freedom for greater convenience.

For me personally freedom>>convenience. I prefer the balance that already exists for disc-based games, and I don't see the different balance struck with family tree as an improvement, I see it as a backward step, as with all the Xbone DRM elements.

But this is a personal thing. The family tree vs disc swapping thing is not a case of right or wrong, or one objectively better than the other. They each have advantages and disadvantages and it's all about what's more important to you. If convenience is more important to you than being able to lend a game to anyone and everyone then Xbone is the console to buy if you were to base your buying decision on this one factor.

I've lent PS3 games to people who aren't on my friends list and even people who don't have PSN accounts. I definitely want to be able to continue doing that. I don't need another reason not to get a Xbone, but this is another reason why I can't really consider getting a Xbone.

I like this Nelson guy more than Mattick that's for sure.
