Which also means that the 8 months after PS3 launch were also pretty poor.


This is true, the Wii U probably had the best launch line-up a console has ever had.


Aren't most of the launch titles just ports of games that are already on PS3/360, such as Mass Effect 3, Need for Speed, Assassin's Creed 3, and so on?

Yes, most of them are but the 360 and PS3 launch catalog was really, really bad... The likes of Lair and Perfect Dark: Zero bad.
