Well it was any other superman for the exception of Man of Steel was just crap...although ome would argue the original was good for its time but I strongly disagree.

SPOILER ALERT!!!
i don't understand the complaint that superman killed zod cause zod was just about to kill that family and superman kept asking him to stop and zod wouldn't listen so superman had to kill him or else that family of 4 would of died and he even screamed after he snapped his neck he is definetly not pround he had to do that

Go read Action Comics #775 OR read Superman: Ending Battle by Geoff John. But going by your reply I doubt you have ever read a Superman comics in your life. |
Spoliers....
Well I have read quite a few superman comics but this question has been answered by another user. To add to my point...this movie is not a direct enactment of any superman comicbook (nothing has been said so far about this) but in a situation like the one he was stuck in he had only 2 options...let the family die (which would have been stupid) or kill Zod as there was no other option left. And he did the right thing. I am really surprised how no other CBM brought any superhero to a situation similar to this as I personally thought it was ingenious even if it didn't stay entirley true to the comic. You seem to be someone who likes everything to be true to the comic/book whereas I like the comics, but I'm okay even if they break some rules in the comic as long as it is still intresting to watch and doesn't take away from the character they were setting up in the movie. And in my opinion Man of Steel did that perfectly.
could of been alot better i say its was good but not great. it was atleast better then after earth that movie was like watching a dog eat a fake poo. here are my big gripes about man of steel
1 the script lacked character development and tended to jump around way too much. kent "im a kid, wait now im 20 something and on a boat, wait no im a bartender, wait now im in alaska on a ship, etc etc
2little character interaction
3 superman loves lois after only meeting her 2 times and talking for maybe 4 minutes tops? no relationship is established or grown. all that is established is she is a stalker, yet at the end they kiss like they have been lovers for the last 2 yrs
4 over use of blur, bad camera work in some areas where the camera actually jitters around, having the camera so close that you cant see what is taking place other then movement.
its weird because i like snyders other films, hell i love the watchmen it had good fights, emotion, character development. but i guess since people didnt like that film he tossed out all that and went with big special effects for this. now ill probably get yelled at and told im wrong or dont get the film. ha
however i did love the part where he broke zods neck

spoiler:
They took down like 30 buildings and sent a satellite hurtling to earth during their fight. I'm sure several family's of four got wasted in the process.

Yeah I usually rate a film on it's repeat viewings. TDK is terrible after you have seen it once. I seen it twice in cinemas. The second was boring. Only seen it once since on Bluray. The joker overshadows the rest of the film way too much. Any repeat viewings I'm just waiting for him to show up.
TDKR isn't as out of proportion as TDK but I never managed to watch it the second time. Only got about 20 minutes into it.
Batman Begins is always good even with multiple viewings and well balanced compared to the others.
Man of Steel I only seen once but I would have happily gone in to watch it again straight away after leaving the cinema.
When I get around to watching it again this may all change though. But for now that is the way I would rate the DC movies.
I forgot about Green Lantern in my original post and I'm sure many more DC movies. But GL is a guilty pleasure of mine. I really enjoyed that movie even though most hated it.

I was kinda surprised they decided to take the approach they took to Zod. The Phantom Zone concept had already been established earlier, and the Jor-El hologram could have easily instructed Superman on ways to send an enemy back to the Zone(which he usually does with the evenly matched enemies in comics). I dont particualrly mind what happened in the climax, but they did have a less controversial way to resolve things, wihch will, no doubt, be also used in future superman or justice league movies(not much you can do to Darkseid except send him to the Zone)
