Forums - Gaming - MS is using a Nvidia Titan in their X1 units at E3. Are they mis representing the X1 graphics.

 I didn't read your first post thoroughly, I thought you were saying I was pretending to be impartial to the 3 main gaming console companies, hence the avatar/sig comment. I wish I was right... because whatever this is, is just sad.

What is the point of this conversation? To out me because "on vgchartz, you're an irrational poster, guided by the hand of corporate allegiance". You're not even providing any evidence to support your claim. The story is only "mind-blowing" to those who want it to be. As I said, it's common practice.

What is the point of this? You quoted me to attack my online mindset? Are you a mental patient? Trouble at home and are just venting online? You seem to have a need to release some stress, you're on the internet. Go watch porn or something and actually make conversation about, oh I don't know... Video Games?

To be completely fair here running a game in engine actually requires more resources than will be required on the actual desired platform. So even if the hardware running in engine is using advanced components than the X1 it doesn't really mean that the game will look any different on the X1.

*Please not my track record of not being an MS fan at all, and I currently have no intention of buying their next gen offerings*

And people kept saying MS would back off the DRM, because of the mass outcry and because that it would be suicide.  They didn't.  And all of their comments make it seem they are going full steam ahead with their plans.  We're also only ~5 months away from launch, so these games should at least be being played on dev kits, not suped up PCs/laptops.

Possibly.  I would imagine this would fall under false advertising.  Maybe not if its just the E3 games that look better than the final game.  But, possibly if the E3 games are used for their ads, yet the final games don't look as good.  I do know SE was forced to take down their FF13 ad for the 360 version, since it used PS3 footage and there was a discernable difference in visual quality.

Then they wouldn't do it. People on here are assuming they ran that forza to go beyond the hardware capabilities of the X1. We don't know that, do we?  They're emulating the game on other hardware the E3 before launch. Everyone does it!

That seems unlikely.  Why would developers build X-1 games for a Titan?

Not at all. Both consoles are so much different than your ordinary PCs. Both are using APUs w/ unified memory. This alone makes them much more efficient than a PC ever hopes to be. This also allows future next-gen games to match high-end PCs a few years for now once devs start optimizing for every drop of power. So no, these aren't just PCs, they are much, much more.

If you'll notice.  Battfield 4 was demoed using the PC.  Pretty much all the multiplat games that use PC were.

Why?

PC STILL looks better.

Afterall, think about this (likely false) rumor.

Titan GPU's CAN'T be part of that kind of unified architecture.


So in otherwords.  High end GPU's > Next Gen graphics.

If that wasn't the case, this rumor wouldn't be a negative.


Console power has... as always, been greatly overexagerrated via PR hype.
