Forums - Nintendo - Wind Waker HD Trailer - Don't attack my eye!

I think it looks ok. Outset looks really good and very detailed, but the ocean itself looks "meh" for me. This may be the trailer though.

The models of the characters are the exact same as the original, which is kinda disappointing imo. I would prefer a "complete" remake like Ocarina of Time 3D.

I'm more interested in the changes they made to the gameplay, the fast boat will be extremely useful and the hook is lightning fast. In the developer commentary Aonuma said something about the Triforce fetch quest, that it was tedious to do, but he didn't gave any more details. It obviously sounds like they are changing this, but I want to know how they are going to do it.

I thought the game looked great! The stuff he points out doesn't really bother me.

game is gorgeous, I seen it last night several times and I have video of both playable demos if anyone wants to see them. Of course I know you can already watch them on the internet with better quality.

One youtuber has some valid points.

"Look at 0:10 Outset Island looks totally muddy and bloom reduces the detail alot.

Look at 0:28 the sky color is mixing with Link's hat thanks to the shitty bloom.

Look at 0:44 the handrail looks totally washed out and is turquoise/blue thanks to the crappy bloom spreading all over.

I am a real Zelda fan but I have admit that this game looks bad. I am not blinded by dumb fanatism (worst kind if fanboyism)."

Nintendo should really remove the bloom.... or at least make it optional (like in some shooters or Rockstar titles you can turn off the motion blur)

Imho the original Wind Waker looks better!

The game looks fine to me...it looks hella fine!!!

I love it, it feels so deep and blue. the blue feel is really calming and adds to the sailing

I guess you have to be a tech guy to notice his discrepencies, I didn't see what he was talking about from any of his complaints.

EXATCTLY!!! No point to nitpick/cherry pick on very minor details that most game players won't notice!!! One thing for certain is that Nintendo games are now off the smeared glasses in visuals and most def looks fine in HD!!!

Good, good. You added "Don't attack my eye!" to the title. This thread just became 5x better.

You are more influential than you think  :)

No, it's done on purpose. Defining edges is not always a quality, here bloom makes the world dreamy, much like a bloomy sunny day. That combined with the shadows gives for a very tangible world and I'm all for it.

Yup, this ^^^

Finally, I'm seeing the Pikmin plush doll video gain some meme traction.

Oh, and the game looks beautiful. Haters can go play Twilight Princess if they don't like bloom lighting.

Wait...
