Gears of War: Redux was rumoured for release on PS4 last night, but it’s all total bollocks, Epic Games has confirmed.

Last night this logo was said to confirm that Gears of War was coming to PS4.

Today Epic Games has debunked the image in a statement to IGN, in which it said the logo is fake, the game does not exist at all, and, added “Also, we would never use that font.”

There we go, rumour over.

omg i almost died laughing.  lololol.  it's not even that funny but it is..

First of all it's thatgamecompany. Second of all, they didn't go bust.

They would have done, but for being able to raise some funds from investors to make some multiplat games.

Journey wiped them out.

What are you saying, that if they had been third party they'd have been fine? I don't think you've researched this company very well. I've been following them from their first game "cloud" and fl0w is one of my favorite browser games of all time, next to desktop tower defense.

Being exclusive was not the problem. No, they were funded to make these games BECAUSE a company invested in them. Because they were a new company, they made some mistakes during journey. They weren't ready for such a large game with such a small group, especially a group that the creator's admit, had different ideas on how to convey the narrative. In fact, had they been multiplat to begin with, they might not have even survived it, and probably been subsumed by some corp like ea or activision.

Nah they went against the grain and poured all their money into Journey. They were the individuals who did that.

which is what i said.  you just agreed with me.

I was talking about everything you were trying to say. You were trying to say that they lost money with Journey because it didnt sell and they were forced to go multiplat.

^^this is what it seemed like you were trying to say. So yea i agree with you that they poured all their effort into Journey and made it back before their deal was up and went multiplat ;)

And they made it all back with journey's success or did you miss that part ?

go do some research.  no they didnt.  they just about managed to repay sony and clear debts.  They made nothing from Journey.

"Chen noted ThatGameCompany did make its money back from Journey--plus some--but its release as a PlayStation 3-exclusive hurt the game's overall sales."

He's a design major, not a business major.

It would've likely done the same on multiplat, but wouldn't have had the safety net of santa monica to help finish the game.

Kown said the game didn't profit. It did. Not a lot of money but it did. This is also from a 4 months old interview, it's not like the game stopped selling.

I did before and just did it again but other then the Development troubles (such as Bankruptcy) they had the "Fastest Selling game on PSN" of 2012, and tell me that their success (also their most Successful PSN title) did not bring the revenue back. Otherwise why if they made no money from journey are they still around and Working on their next Title?
Or is it that you think Independant Developers can survive Bankruptcy, Not make money, and can still go on to develop more games.

Oh, I see your point now. I thought you were saying something else. Yes, he believes that the financing had all been paid off by early 2013. Nothing but profits now.

I'm glad Sony has not given epic an incentive to bring this series exclusively to the PS4. A wait of sony resources and time.
Never played GeOW-J but the other three games were not my cup of tea. ehh boring games.
