Well that was quite obvious wasn't it? You can't expect games at E3 to run on retail hardware, 6 months before launch. Sony is probably doing the same thing. As a matter of fact, these are target demos. Actual games aren't gonna look as good. And that applies to both consoles.

And to be perfectly honest, I am more concerned with the PS4 right now. That thing is disturbingly thin. How the hell do you fit an HD7850-7870 equivalent of a GPU in there?

Nope. This isn't normal, specially considering Forza 5 is a launch title who should be going gold by now. The actual dev kits are out for nearly 18 months now and sure as hell they aren't Dell laptops; besides I really doubt there's such a thing as target demos, specially when people are playing it believing it's meant to be an X1 product. Under the common north american law, this qualifies as fraud if someone buys the game trusting the demos to be as the retail game.

Neither did some PS4 and WiiU games.

Happens all the time. They run on dev kits not actual hardware. Why is it surprising that Xbone OS has taskbar anyway? It's RUNNING ON WINDOWS.

Not even dev kits just a laptop. Who mentioned a task bar? The tweet said "Task Manager" also know as that thing that appears when you press control-alt-supr.

FYI - The Task Bar is the visible UI portion of TaskEng.exe, which is also the program that provides the Task Manager.

hmmm it doesn't need always on.... it needs to check in once a day.... so i'm pretty sure a dial up internet connection could be enough for that.... which means anyone with the possibility to have a land line should be fine....

that 24h check in is and as always been a non issue.... people just like to bitch.....

While you're being sarcastic...No.  Xbox LIVE has alway required a broadband or better Internet connection.

Well, the industry isn't comprised by saints. Take any retail game that is in stores right now and check out the screenshots in the back. Then compare that to the actual gameplay.

Now you are correct regarding actual playable demos. But "in-engine trailers" are a different story. And my bet is 99% of them are tinkered to look better than the real deal.

Thats weird. But I don't see as negative thing, I'm assuming the debug dev kits would be better kitted than a laptop but not space efficient.

Pretty normal? Well then why does Julian Ringwall from GamePro tweeted this? He could have added "pretty normal" to his tweet.

X1 Demos are not even running on dev kits.

Well because it is Microsoft. So any little thing that seems out of order needs to be national news. Just like the story about them paying publishers to only show their games. People are up in arms about that, but don't realize Sony does it as well with games like Assassains Creed (every year), Theif 4 and other titles.

People are putting a negative spotlight on Microsoft for doing normal things in the industry just because of the DRM thing. The cultrue we live in sadly likes to ride the negativity wave once ONE bad thing happens.

We can go on and on about it. Like Microsoft isn't realising in Asia in 2013 and people start asking if Microsoft is behind that much. Well if you look at the sales there is actually a buisness reason why they are not. However people just want to run with them having production issues.

Exactly. 100% agree.

Another example:

The Xbox One needs an internet connection. This is confirmed for weeks or even months. Why can't we just accept that by now?

No, as soon as the MS-support-Twitter-Account confirms this to a random Twitter user, we make a thread about it and are in rage-mode for 5 or 6 pages.
Don Mattrick confirms it, we make another thread about it and go nuts for another 5-6 pages.
Phil Spencer explains this - another thread.

So IF you don't have any internet in your house and NO internet at all on your smartphone, the Xbox One is not for you. We know this by now.
Can we just go back to discuss the games now?

If everyone accepts it, they won't change it. If they don't change it, many won't buy it.

I love how everyone is jumping on every negative thing that happens to the X1 and making a big deal out of it.
