I think it's a big error. You can't let Nintendo get a foothold in Japan. If it launches after Mario Kart it's all over really.

Complete reversal from the Vita launch, then. Shows the type of games they're going for as well.

Mario kart cant really compete with kingdom hearts and final fantasy xv

I sincerely doubt the XBone won't launch in Japan. If it doesn't then there's absolutely no reason for FFXV to go to the system. Let alone KH3.

Have a look at the list of countries where the XboxOne will release in. Japan isn't on the list. Also, please don't forget that Japan is only 1 country, there are plenty other countries where it will released in.

It still doesn't make sense from a business perspective. Japan is one of the biggest markets in the world, and for Squeenix 70-80% of sales for FF and KH will come from Japan. So I don't get it. Unless Squeenix didn't know this?

Well, MS seems to think it makes sense not to release that system there.

At launch yeah, it's launching a year later AFAIK.

The new device will only be available in select Asian markets – Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea and India

Don't be so certain. MKWii sold 3.65mil and is still selling, but that's lower than other entries in the series. In comparison, the best selling KH game in Japan has just scraped by a million, and it's been selling much less than that in recent years. Similarly, FF is in a downward spiral so will likely sell around 2mil, XIII sold 1.9mil in Japan.

So MK can easily compete, and outsell. And by virtue of coming earlier it will produce, or carry on, momentum to rival the PS4 before FF launches. Which is the big difference I was referring to as opposed to outright sales.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

People keep digging holes.

there is much material being delivered for future use at the moment.   I don't know why people are so definitive in their standpoints.  Don't they know the world changes.

they even have a massive precedent now in paid for multiplayer.... Ah well.

people need to be more reasonable and less knee jerk and condescending, it i's killing forum discussion.

I can see a lot of these Sony crusaders having massive egg on their face and all these threads brought back to haunt them, they're frankly going to look foolish when the final policies are in place and people see exactly what they had to "give up".

Good to see Europe won't get shafted at the last minute. Also, they know it will do well in Japan so it can come later there

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

Even the GameCube version nearly sold a million, and Mario Kart is much bigger now than it was then. It should breeze by 1mil. 2mil is a harder target but still managable. 3mil is probably out of reach.

Well it will be release in Australia / New Zealand this year as well, that has been confirmed.
