Forums - Gaming - Am I over gaming or will it come back?

Stop reading about games on the net. By the time you get them you know everything about them, so nothing feels new or fresh and you get bored quickly.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Maybe you could try the Ouya? It's cheap and this site needs an Ouya fanboy/authority!

Do you play New Leaf on the regular 3DS or the XL? I didn't like Wild World because I felt that the screen was too small for that type of game. I couldn't really see where I was going most of the time. (My eyes are perfectly fine and I don't wear glasses by the way) I also got Kid Icarus for Christmas (I didn't buy it) and haven't touched it yet. Would that be a good game to try?

Kid Icarus is a very different game to play. I say try that before getting Animal Crossing. Even though they are completely different, it should help you to learn what still interests you and what doesn't.

I just played the first 2 chapters of the game and I give my fun factor about a 4. I wasn't totally board but wasn't exactly having a fun either. It was as If I was just going through the motions. It didn't help that Pits voice annoyed the crap out of me...HA!

Sounds about right. Got to diversify your time. Even the best things become boring if that is all one does. Cheers :)

I don't devote any time to actual system games anymore though but it isn't like my life is boring right now, I'm happy and have a lot of fun, just not with games. I was just wondering if it happened to other people on here as well and it obviously does. Thanks for the help. Cheers :)

Reality is that the older you get the less you'll care about games. Unless you work on the industry, you have to focus on other stuff so it makes sense to start losing excitement over new generation game consoles. I am looking forward to getting Xbox One and I will, but the reality is that I will not be buying tons of games and I'll hardly play. That's life in general. Your kids will be excited tho so that's how you'll stay connected.

I am a believer that no matter what age you are, you can still have fun with things that the younger generation likes. I still enjoy family friendly kid movies and cartoons and stuff. I probably always will to an extent too. I don't think focusing on other things applies to me because I have tons of down time that I could use to play games if that's what I wanted to do. Just being on this site shows that I still have some interests in video games, just not playing them right now.

OT   It seems like you lost all interest in gaming. Try PC gaming but it probably wont make a difference unless you play a online MP game with friends.

I don't think I've lost all interest because I'm still on this site though. I don't like PC gaming, sorry.

I've actually considered that because I used to read movie reviews and I stopped and I've noticed that I enjoy the moves better when I know only the basics of it. Yet, with Nintendo games what is there to know? It isn't like they have story lines and I don't need the Internet to know that Bowser will kidnap Peach...Lol.

@IronmanDX, I'd rather not...It would be like playing IOS games on my T.V...actually that doesn't sound as bad as I thought it would.

As a Nintendo fan you should know that the whole thing about Nintendo games is the new gameplay elements they throw into each game. That's what you are not get surprised or happy about.

Other than that, if Nintendo games aren't pleasing you, try to just take a long, long break. Or quit. (Because in a post before I think you mentioned trying out the PS3, but it didn't work. Am I correct?)

There are some solutions to this. I would suggest to take a break for a little while and perhaps spend some time playing lots of multiplayer games with your mates and just muck around and have some fun.

Then go and have a look around at some high quality singleplayer games that are different from the stuff you mentioned.

I haven't read too much into Dark Moon or New Leaf though. If you remember I took a 3 month break fom VGC and haven't look up gaming much. I only know what is presented in the trailers which don't contain every new elements I'm sure.

My PS3 broke, I only really used it for LBP and movies though. I am considering buying a 3DS game though as a finale attempt before I take a long break from gaming. I will want something extra to entertainment during the Summer anyway :)

I don't know how it's going to entertain you if gaming bores you, but okay.

Best of luck. Hopefully the gamer in you comes back.

Well, more like pass the time. Even if I'm a bit board, I'll have something to do just in case I run out of other ideas.
