Ive said multiple times on these forums that I thought 3D Land 2 would release on 3DS sometime in 2014.

Well ive got this little theory that Nintendo had both 3D Land 2 and Mario Universe in development for the past 2 years but they realized Universe had no chance of releasing holiday 2013 and they didnt want to rush Kart 8, so halfway thru development they decided to switch 3D Land 2 to 3D World for Wii U since it needed a big holiday title.

I believe Univers will release sometimr between Holiday 2014 and 1st half of 2015

While it's true that EAD Tokyo has two development teams, one of them hasn't developed a game since Super Mario Galaxy. They might be focused on game engines or something.

At any rate, you're theory isn't quite based on fact. According to the Developer Direct, 3D World is indeed a direct sequel to 3D Land but was never going to be a 3DS game. The development team felt that their vision of 3D Mario multiplayer better served the Wii U, and I think they're right about that.

I don't think another 3D Mario for the Wii U exists.

Well the Mario Galaxy team could be working on a super big 3D Mario, didnt Galaxy have a very long dev cycle?

Even tho 3D World always had Wii U in mind, I still think its being used as a hold us over title kinda like Wind Waker in a way.

Maybe, but I wouldn't get my hopes up yet.

Maybe a 2015 3D Mario and Zelda to push a hardware refresh. They may already be planning a reboot.

That combo for holiday 2014 would be epic but 2015 is probably more likely

Mario Universe could be what they work on after 3DWorld, but I think they really view World's style as the evolution of 3D Mario. It's more polished, precise and accessible than Galaxy, and allows for 4 players.

The new Nintendo hates production value. Everything has to be as lifeless as possible.

I think we will definitely see another 3D Mario for Wii U at some point but I think 3D World was always meant to be the big Holiday 2013 game.

They like the new style and I actually do too.
