Wait, I'm confuzled. #1) Are you saying the best or your favorite? Your post keep sounding like you're saying both, so make up your mind lol. #2) And again, what basis are you using to determine which tracks are better? If anything, N64's track are of the most inferior because you're just sitting there holding down the A button and not much else a good amount of the time on most tracks.
Also, I'm shocked you believe 64 even comes close to the newer entries. #3) 16+ characters are better than 8 characters, #4) improved graphics n sound are better than inferior graphics n sound, 32 tracks (some of which are N64 ones) are better than 16 tracks, online play is better than no online, different Karts are better than all of them looking exactly the same, stats that differentiate characters and Karts/Kart customization - basically strategy, depth, and personalization is better than none/very little, 60fps is better than 30fps, more depth in tracks (coins, tricks, gliding, etc.) is better than less, more modes are better than less, and so ons and so ons. A lot of that stuff wasn't even in MK64, so how can you even say 64 does all that but better?
Oh, and MK7 > MKWii. #5) I mean, MK7 is basically just MKWii on the 3DS, only with much more balance, more depth, better frame rate, and more options, hence it's the overall better game.

Hehe
.
Okay, bold #1: I admit that's quite confusing, I'm talking about my favorites. Which to me is equal to 'the best', however I realize that objectively older entries can't be the 'actual best' when newer entries are only supposed to improve on the older ones' features.
bold #2: My personal preference. There isn't any other way to determine this anyway, objectively. Is Wario Collosseum only better than Wario Stadium because it has loops? Is DK Jungle better than Donkey Kong Jungle Parkway because it has Tiki Goons? I don't know, couldn't objectively say. I know I prefer the former in both cases.
bold #3: Number of characters is irrelevant to how much I like the game, my favorites were already there in the very first one anyway. Also, this doesn't really improve every entry either. Petey Piranha and King Boo were total wastes of space because they couldn't even think of unique items for them. 7's actually the biggest offender. Wiggler? Queen Honey Bee? Lakitu? Too much yellow characters if you asked me. If you include Wiggler, you might also include Goombas as drivers. Let's just keep enemies as the enemy. I could get along with Lakitu, but he's already the guy who's counting down and rescueing everyone. Also, have these and not Waluigi?
bold #4: Long paragraph. I didn't really say that, I meant that the features they share I found more fun in 64. I'll add with the exception of multiplayer Grand-Prix mode (which you can only play with 2 players in 64). Most of the other things also don't really effect my liking any entry in the series at the end of the day. Naturally, graphics and sound should be 'better' with each new entry, but having played all of them when they were relevant and still owning those consoles and the original games, I am perfectly able to set my mind back in time and be amazed for what they are. Online play is nice, but definitely no deal-breaker. Mario Kart is a local-multiplayer game if you'd ask me because that's tons more fun. Battle Mode (which has never been a favorite of mine anyway) in 64 is still the best one. Or, rather, my favorite amongst them. It's more competive and again the stages are just more fun. I think 64 relies more on the player's skill rather than tricks (don't mean this in a bad way, I realize one uses skill to use those 'tricks' to their benefit of course). It's more 'pure' and I feel I have more control over the outcome of the race, maybe because it's so basic. In the end it all boils down to "do I like these tracks"? That's the single most important thing. 32>16, true, but those retro-tracks just make me reaffirm my thoughts on the old, in particular the 64's, tracks. In general I probably just prefer a more straightforward experience rather than the chaotic one Mario Kart is today, which doesn't mean I don't like the latter. Not at all, hence my Wii entry placement.
bold #5: Yes, but with worse tracks
.
No, for me it remains; Wii > 64 > (hypothetical 8 placement) > 7 > DS > Super > Double Dash! > Super Circuit
