People would be silly to trust any corporation. A coporation will always look out for the best interest of the corporation. If they deliver a product that does not meet consumer needs then they will change it. Its not because a corporation loves consumers, they love their product.
People believing that Sony and Nintendo is some altruistic company need to look in the past. The only thing you can give Sony credit for is that they have played this generation to a tee as they let MS take the heat and thus change their policy or have a chance to confirm their policy afterward.
Also, what MS really did was drop the X1 games as being digital game. People was not ready for the model so they reverted back to the way the 360 does it. This is more response to people not accepting a direction then backpedaling.
