game is a blast, the graphics are very disappointing though, we were playing on a 50 inch tv and the IQ and jaggies really take away from the beautiful art style.

I just played 5 hours of MK8 with a friend of mine without an interruoption..
This game is beyond awesome.. Especially Star and Lightning Cup..

It also sold out entirely in my region..

I was warming up to the Tournament option, so I'm glad to see you think that's best as well.

The thing is, don't Tournaments keep track of your cumulative points? So instead of just keeping track of one run and then erasing those points for the next run, it just adds them together.

If that's the case, do you think creating a new Tournament every Saturday is the best option or only option?

So far the wife and I are really liking this game. I'm liking the courses, the power ups, the graphics etc. MK is one of the games my wife and I really enjoy together, so MK will always be special for me.

Only a few hours in, but this is pretty awesome.

This is definitely one of the games I bought the WiiU to play!

What I've noticed in my VGC Test tournament is that changing the day and time adds a number to the high score list, so it should be fresh on every new date. You don't need to create new tournament rooms, so no hassle with new codes every week. If you look up my tournament room (called "VGC Test") and view results, then the title should be "VGC Test 3". I suppose it's possible that previous results will be archived and get a number attached to them, but since version 1 and 2 of my room were never actually played, I can't say for sure. We would need to test that. Are you up for it?

Yes, we can test that.

I currently have two Tournament rooms made with all the correct rules in place. The time is set up for Weekly, Saturday, 15:30 (which I'm thinking is 5:30 since my Wii U knows where I live), to 16:00. If things work out like we think, is that good?

Ugh, I wonder why they'd make the time like that for the American version. Maybe for continuity.

So make your four rooms for tomorrow, get the times right, post a full announcement of codes and players, and pray that there are no idiots. Oh, and make it clear who qualifies for the final in case two or more players tie for sixth place in one of the semifinals. Options include, but aren't limited to:

1) Player who is listed higher by the game qualifies.
2) Player who finished in the better position in the final race qualifies (requires honesty and attention from players).
3) Player who you like better qualifies.

Okay. All Tournaments are now set up. (I'm not doing a fourth one, though. Only the two Semis and a Final.) I've taken pictures of the codes and I will post them in a formal announcement soon. I think I'll also post on people's walls to remind them that it is tomorrow.

All played out now. I haven't play a game for so many hours in ages. My poor fingers and wrist.

I haven't even played single player yet. My score nosedived to about 900 points but worked it back up to around 950.

Need more practice for Sunday.
