Forums - Microsoft - Xbox LIVE Gold Subscription - Two Free Games Every Month

During their E3 press conference today, Microsoft announced that Xbox Live Gold, the paid subscription that is required in order to play Xbox 360 games online, will now include free game downloads leading up to the launch of the Xbox One in November. The first games that will be available as part of this service are Assassin’s Creed II and Halo 3 — both very good games! Fable III will also be free for the month of June (though, presumably, the game is yours to keep as long as you download it while it’s free).

This makes Microsoft’s service more competitive with Sony’s PlayStation Plus, which has been offering free games each month for well over a year.

So to clarify. If you have Xbox LIVE Gold, you get two free games per month. Those are yours to keep forever. They don't stop working if you don't maintain a Gold subscription.

This is cool, free games are always a plus.

NOW THAT'S NICE =D

No wonder why they showed two old games. They wanna see how this model cope with the players.

Thank you based Microsoft.

Nice move.

I'll be surprised if they give something good I haven't already played.

And where was this said?

I know as a PS guy I am suppossed to rage or something...

But I won't lol. Always nice to see other gamers get shit that's nice.

: )

I've been wanting something like this for a very long time now. Glad MS is finally doing that. 24 games a year with my XBL subscription sure makes me a happy camper.

Kind of sucks that I've fully played the first two titles that are free though :/

I hope in coming months they let you choose between 4-10 games.

EDIT: I wonder how the free games thing will work when the Xbox One comes out. I'm assuming they won't be giving away two brand new launch titles in November and December.

So its backwards compatible?
