Forums - Gaming - 'Dew and Doritos' teaming up with Xbox One ... seriously

Tagged games:

I've never understood ppl's complaints about the mountain dew and Doritos. Who cares?

Tbh, as a ps3 guy, the only reaction I have to this news is irritation with Sony. This is just smart (and effective, impactful) advertising. Sony just continues to sit by and let MS own them in the US. Its things like this that make the Xbox brand the big/popular name in America. How Sony allowed themselves to go from ps2 to where they are now with brand recognition in the US is beyond me.

Doritos and mountain dew are both some of the most popular snacking foods among young adults and kids, so identifying ur brand with these foods really benefits MS. Xbox will continue to resonate with the average American as the "cool" video game console in the US this new Gen - just like the last - unless Sony FINALLY steps up their game in multiple areas, most significantly in the areas of marketing and intelligent decision-making.

Even worse for Sony/ps4 btw is the fact that they SOMEHOW allowed a massive game like titanfall to become an XBO exclusive. Gonna be a huge deal for XBO in the US (and very likely elsewhere).

Around the Network

Why are you guys still here? You should have already purchased those mouth watering, delicious, crunchy Doritos chips and cracked open a can of that ice cold, refreshing Mountain Dew. Do the Dew.

Also you all seem quiet bored, perhaps while eating Doritos and drinking Mountain Dew thy shall entertain oneself with Halo 4.

I have never seen Mountain Dew and Doritos in real life. But I heard so much about it is it actually good ? Mountain Dew what does it taste like ? Looks like Sprite to me. And Doritos are Chips basically ? Is it worth trying ?

Where do you live I thought by now Doritos is pretty much a global brand and pretty much available everywhere around the wold like their other brand Lay's Potato Chips.

In Germany. I guess they have it here somewhere ? But I don't buy much food in the supermarket and when I do, I dont really watch out what brands I buy and even then I rarely buy sweets and stuff like that and I dont watch TV so I really have no clue what stuff you can buy and not buy.

Also this is the first time I heard of Lays Potato chips in my life. My brand knowledge for food is stuck in the 90s. I know what a Twix (Raider) is or Milkyway/Mars and Coke, Sprite, Pepsi, Fanta, Pringles, Oreos thats about it.

Frito-Lay has a German website so Doritios and Lay's should be available somewhere near where you live.  But they only have two flavors of Doritios Nacho Cheese and Cool American (called Cool Ranch here in the US).  I grew up in Germany and lived there until 1988 they had a lot less global/foreign brands then.

Good old corporate America.
