Do any of you have any great ideas of making a huge videogame, but just feel overwhelmed by technology and that you can't keep up? Well, this thread should be proof enough that that's bs, and that you should be able to deliver your greatest ideas in a simpler vessel, maybe lower bits, but the same great game.

lol, this is gold. But yes, I agree. Basically every PS2 RPG could've been scaled down to fit the SNES, but why do that when you could have 3D grafix and cutscenes?

I also find it funny how anyone could credit the PS1's CD's for FFVIII's awesome soundtrack when FFVI's OST beats the hell out of every FF game since.

That music is not 8-bit. It has too many channels and too good samples to actually be played on an NES.

It was also made on a modern computer with drag and drop music creation. The hard part about 8-bit wasn't the format, it was the weeks and weeks of assembly coding that were needed to make it happen.
