Nothing has changed in terms of Microsoft's policies, if the Indie developers have suddenly decided they don't like it after 7 years of it working for them then I fail to see how this is Microsoft's problem. Bite the hand that feeds you and go develop elsewhere, good luck with those sales as you become swamped in a sea of second rate titles as happens on the mobile market. Self publishing does have a down side and not all games from Indie's are worth publishing. The beauty is that the consumer will now be left to decide I guess, but at what cost to their pocket?
