There needs to a balance between what the consumers want and what the game companies want.
The consumers can't have the final say on everything. The game companies are the ones who invest money making these games and they would like some security.

are you serious??? Of course the gamers have the final say. They spend the money! Adapt or die, every other market is the same.

Steam sales would die overnight. Skyrim for $5? Forget about it.

Again, from what I understand about XBOne's policy, you can NOT play from any Xbox. One user is allowed 10 XBOnes, with one "main" XBOne. If you play a game on a non-main XBOne, you will be subject to hourly online checks. What this means is that since it's a physical disk, you and yourfamily cannot play a single game simultaneously. It has all the disadvantages of physical gaming, with all the disadvantages of digital gaming. Is that clear? |
Then you werent paying attention. Your games are tied to your account and you can sign in and play them from any xbox one. So yes, you CAN play from any xbox.
Also, you still sound like you are just looking for a way to take advantage of the system. You want to play the same copy of the game from your house and your friends house at the same time?
The whole 10 x1 thing is somekind of family share plan, in which you can share your library with up to 10 family members, but they havent really adressed how that will work yet. Im guessing it would be very limited as o what could be shared.

If you let people on this forum have their own way then they would demand AAA high-budget games be free-to-play, no multiplayer, no microtransactions, free DLC etc.
Game companies can do whatever they want with their own products. If you don't like it, don't spend the money.

so what? Let the whiney gamers whine and stop making so many high budget games. When there are less games to fight over developers will get enough money. Markets are self adjusting, there's no need to artificially prop them up. The music industry barely sells CDs anymore and they are fine. Many games are evolving to models like mechwarrior where it's free to play but there are many things to pay for if you want to get everything. Several big budget console games each year is not sustainable, it's gonna end.

I love how your compliments to Steam "device freedom" is basically a way for your friend to pirate games off your account for no charge.. something that only leads to stricter DRM LOL.
Anyone who is ok with Steam and the PC gaming market in general, should have no problem with Xbone. You can share games on there with 10 people apparently, you can gift games you have played, and there is potential for used games. These are all massive improvements over PC gaming DRM.
right the consumer that spends his own money doesn't know whats good for himself. It's up to the gigantic multi-national corporation that wants your money to tell you whats good for you. I'm seeing a lot of that in here.

i agree that steam drm is good drm *not perfect but def best one out there*....being able to play offline with most games is the most important factor imo
