Forums - Microsoft - What really bugs you about the One?

I think the biggest issue for me personally right now is the disc tracking native system built into the Xbox1 (DRM) I think that is detrimental to the consumer market. I also don't like how you can't return or get a refund on digital games in general. (Not X1 specific) Previously my main concerns on getting an X360 were the controller and XBL. The controller is less of a determining factor now, but I do still prefer the dual shock controller (stick placement). As far as XBL I never saw the purpose of it being a wall from which I could not utilize my own internet that I already pay for monthly. It seemed to me to charge for little to no kind of service provided. However, I think some of the new key features would make it worth the money on the x1.

I'm not pleased overall with the amount of hoops it seems one has to jump through to play one's own games, but I also do not know effectively how it would actually look/feel jumping through those digital hoops as it may be virtually painless.

I think MS has made some really cool multi-media offerings, but none of which really make me want to buy it as I can do most of those things already with out it. Kinect still slightly appeals to me for my kids to play games, but not enough to buy the next gen version just for that. I may at some point buy a used 360 for that purpose.

Overall, I feel the cons don't out weigh the pros for the system in regards to my gaming needs desires since the competitor's offerings are more appealing overall, and with out all the hoops.

Also X1 is made by MS and to me that means shoddy hardware and software.

Is "Nothing" available as an option but at the same time "Nothing" attracts me.
I had an xbox360, enjoyed it even if I haven't played a single exclusive title, I was all 3rd parties. But it was a cheaper console back then, bigger userbase.
Now what makes me want a xbone over ps4 while everything seems better on ps4 ?

I think ms are under perception that all they need for a succesful console is support from cod, FIFA, assassins creed and halo, add multimedia hub into it and you have the offering that Xbox will do for the next 10 years on the market. Although I enjoy almost all of those things with the exception of FIFA, I would like the option for other games which I often play too, and ms should be punished for such an arrogant assumption.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

The title One...Now it's going to create a lot of confusion while we refer to original xbox in any thread or forum discussions.

And when the consumers realize that cod games are essentially the same game with different skin and the annual sales begin to decline, maybe then they will realize that putting all the fingers in one pie won't pay off for a long forseeable future.

If they go through with this, I see the great attach rate that 360 had this gen plummet like a stone.

I don't like:
-the used games policy
-the online check thing
-the kinect always being connected
-Still having to pay for Xbox Live just to play miltiplayer
-less powerful than the PS4

24-hour online check means no deal for me. Nobody in the market does this.
Paid online play. Nobody in the market does this.
Kinect. Nobody in the market does this.
Underpowered compared to PS4, especially because the loss of power is due to Kinect and TV stuff.

Blocking used games is not good by any stretch of imagination, but I could #dealwithit if the above weren't all present. The fact that all of them are true and happening just makes it all the more shitty.

The fact I would not be able to play games on it.

I care about video games and live playing them, so a system where I can not play games? Have to admt, did not see that coming.

Only area I am skeptical is used games and how much prices will go down on digital games. The rest of it, MS is taking games into the digital world and doing so in a manner that is better for gamers than Steam even. Just remains to be seen how the market reacts and how the prices of games adjust. Since used games support is entirely up to publishers on PS4, I expect the same thing there too.

The horrible anti-consumer practices.
