Res 6,Castlevania LOTS,every Mario game I have played (this gen,from Ds to Wii,expect Kart),FF XIII and many more (lately) .Because I hated these games, I no longer have any intrest in the game franchise.Sure I do check if game gets 10/10 of 100/100 and check if maybe, franchise has gone back to what it used to be.

But most of time I do forgive 1 or 2 bad games like FF XII,Dmc2,Resistance2,Res5,GTA IV etc...So I did forgive FFXII and RES5 because I have been huge fan since I was kid and I guess they were OK games and got their sequels but...Just horrible games..

Of course. If a significant other got you a crappy present, it would be disappointing, but it doesn't mean you should divorce the person.

I can forgive Shadow Dragon cause they gave me Awakening.

I can forgive Other M if they bring out a true Metroid again.

Basically, if they release a bad game, they'd better release a good one for their next entry.

I could get over it, yes. But if it happens 2 times, i don't think i would have the patience for a third time.

Resident Evil 5 i didn't like much, but still got it. Resident Evil 6 i will never buy, even dirt cheap. Another example was the terrible Devil May Cry 2, i still got 3 as it was amazing. So i "forgave" Capcom for that one.

Yes, Metroid Other M is really bad imo, but I still love the franchise (especially the Prime series).

Oh come on Shadow Dragon is not THAT bad...well maybe a little.

I can forgive Resistance2 cause of the chaotic 64 multiplayer and the 8 player co-op mode.

"Forgive" them as in "still give future titles in the franchise a chance"?

In which case, of course. I'd be more wary of buying future titles in such a series, but it wouldn't put me off.

For example: I've loved WipEout since the PS1 days. WipEout Fusion (PS2), was quite a bad game. It didn't feel anything like the series I loved. Every title in the series that followed (Pure; Pulse; HD Fury; 2048) I've absolutely loved to pieces, just like the 3 PS1 games. If I'd given up on the series because of a title I didn't like as much, I'd have deprived myself of 4 fantastic games.

Same deal with any other series. I'm in this rut with Final Fantasy at the moment, but that soitenly doesn't mean I'll never play a FF game again.

I don't think there has ever been a singular game that has completely turned me off of a series...

Of course I can. I don't even really understand the question, to be honest, or how some people rage quit a franchise because the last game wasn't for them. It doesn't even matter if the last FIVE releases have been bad, if the next one is good, then I'll play it. I'm not going to sullenly puff my cheeks out and refuse to play something I might enjoy. I really don't understand that mentality. I see people take releases they don't like as some kind of personal insult and it both baffles and amuses me.

I think Final Fantasy XIII is a perfect example. Even if I didn't like the game (and I did like it), I wouldn't throw a fit. I watched people's tantrums, where they were like, "OMG I HATE SQURE I'LL NEVER BUY ANOTHER FINAL FANTASY!!11," and I just had to roll my eyes.

If the next game isn't to my liking, I'll skip it. If the one after that appeals to me, I'll buy it. It's that simple.
