Based on what we've learned thus far now you guys are really grasping at straws. You know if it happens to Sony it will happen to Nintendo as well. Sony said they are not implmenting DRM, therefore the chances are low of them committing this on their own games. They'll probably keep the online pass which is more than fair. Microsoft unlike Sony took it upon themselves to enforce DRM on consumers, themselves. They've locked down Gamestop to the Azure network, which means we will hear from them on any used game.

Okay, conspiracy theory now :) Keep going!

Yes...such a conspiracy theory. You buy a game used, paywall goes up. The Azure system should be nothing new to you.

The Azure system will affect how consumers and Xbox Gamers purchase now at used game dealers. Gamestop is going to take it out on Xbox gamers.

Gamestop stock dropped 5% the second this news came up.

Azure is Microsoft's cloud platform  :) I do not understand why you keep referring it as "the Azure" system while talking about their used game strategy...

Cloud or not, its going to lead to Gamestop and other used systems to not make their bottom line and taking it out on gamers on said platforms. We're all intelligent guys and girls and have some sort of sense of what happens in business.

Are you talking about the fact that "you" believe that Sony is different.
And they are supposely "passionate" and "caring" about gamers/gaming... Not about just making money like all companies out there?
Naw, it is not only about intelligence... It is about emotion mainly :)

I am not talking about emotion, I grew upplaying with Nintendo & Sony but Halo drew me away from my PC gaming. Once MS came into the gaming industry I started to understand the basics of economy and realized gaming would never be the same and would be pro corporate and less consumer friendly. Yes, I trust Sony more than MS, but thats because they've earned my trust more than they've lost it. MS never had me in principle based on what they stand for as a company but if they make a good product will buy it. They never had my childhood and I am thankful they never did, but there are many kids who grew up with MS and are growing up to view the industry as more shrewed as it should be seen. When I was grewing up gaming was never ever this shrewed even when I read EGM's and Gamepro magazines every month as a child and I've been reading Gamepro since the age of eight I believe. Sony was hit hard with the PS3 in the beginning and they have shown humility and thus have been rewarded for it by the PS3's results today. They are walking into next gen with that same humility, even though Sony outside of the gaming industry supports DRM. They now know where they stand with gamers. MS has never been on level with gamers and if there ever comes a day that gamers bring them to their knees in sales they will leave the gaming industry.

At this moment i am under the assumption sony will not since they said the ps4 doesnt have to be online, so that argument doesnt make sense at this time. However, if sony does or did, they will get the same reaction as I am giving the middle finger to M$, Worse comes to worse i have a bad ass gaming PC and a whole lot of old game systems im so GLAD i kept over the years with a decent library. hell id buy a wiiu to stick a middle finger to them both(sony,M$). I will game regardless, also, if i did get one i would mod it and make it the way i wanted it and still not spend any money on games. i will pirate games to play them if i have to, i dont condone it but i will not be bent over like this.

Sony has said a million times that used games 100% do work and you can play internet connection free and you know you dont need a source for it.

This thread should be locked its a giant flamebait.

Technically speaking, the Xbone allows used games. Sony answer has always been "It's up to publishers", the same as to what MS said recently:

"Trade-in and resell your disc-based games: Today, some gamers choose to sell their old disc-based games back for cash and credit. We designed Xbox One so game publishers can enable you to trade in your games at participating retailers.  Microsoft does not charge a platform fee to retailers, publishers, or consumers for enabling transfer of these games.

Give your games to friends: Xbox One is designed so game publishers can enable you to give your disc-based games to your friends. There are no fees charged as part of these transfers. There are two requirements: you can only give them to people who have been on your friends list for at least 30 days and each game can only be given once."

Take a look at the bolds, not that much different from what Sony has said.

"I also spoke to a Sony source elsewhere at the event this evening who told me that the anti used-game patent discovered last month was actually nothing to do with PlayStation 4 at all."

since the ps4 wil work completley without an internet connection how would they implement the drm in the first place...the biggest problem is the 24 hour check in shit
