Forums - Sony - Is Sony recovering their greatness? Does the PS4 have this generation locked?

I think it is safe to say that the xb1 will outsell the ps4 in the US and the Uk, as much noise as Sony fans have been making most people really don't care that much and just want to play the games they like, usually online, and In America and Britain that means Xbox. (At least for the majority)

No and No. and calling tlou best game of the generation seems too much of a stretch by itself, and a much bigger stretch considering the game, you know, ISN'T OUT YET!!

Atleast someone with a brain.

I think they're, currently, headed in the right direction. On the flip-side, I expect a lot of the negative hysteria for the X-One to subside, post E3. Yes, there will be some unanswered questions, but there will also be a lot of good gaming side-tracks to even things back up in Microsoft's favor.

Still, the PS4 buzz has been vastly more positive than the early days of the PS3. Things are looking good!

This.

Hard to say they've got it locked down when we're still months from release, but they're definitely doing a lot of things right.

It's all about the game.

I think that the lowest console price will win this generation, at least between Xbox and Playstation. The hardware is similar enough, neither console appears to have backwards compatibility, and both sides seem to have lots of exclusives, so consumers could go either way. If one console is $50 cheaper than the other, it may make enough of a difference for holiday shoppers to go with it.

Well, their glory days depended on releasing early, and major 3rd party exclusivity. Neither of which are PS4 traits.

But they have Japan. Thats their ace in the hole.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

If Xbox One is not fail prone Hardware...good luck in the states sony..

I don't know why everyone thinks  the US is locked up.

After totally dominating with the PS2, did you think PS3 had the US locked down?

The US do not have loyalties like that when it comes to gaming. They never have.

You must of misunderstood my post...

I read it as you stating that if the XBOne releases without a RRoD type problem then they will dominate the US.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Having the generation locked is a bit of a stretch. There's so much we don't know about Sony and about the competition. The second set of HD twins aren't priced yet. We know about only a handful of launch titles. Nintendo could eventually start making games. Most important of all: there's still tons of unforeseen events that will affect console sales during the next few years.

All we can say right now is that Sony seems to be in a favorable position going in this new generation.

Signature goes here!

lol wrong thread. Anyway OT, MS is losing Europe, fast.

Agreed.  Sony was in a favourable position last time around, until they announced the price, Microsoft released a console before them and then Nintendo pushed gaming to casual gamers.

just like VITA got the generation locked several months before launch.

While I'm nowhere near calling this gen (I think it's ridiculous to even prognosticate at this point) saying that just because some fans were wrong about one console every fan who predicts that another console will do the same thing (different ones normally) is wrong is a flawed argument to say the least.
