The image quality is bad I know but if you watch the video, you can see the enemy nametags through fucking obstacles and thus can see where exactly the enemy is. I am shocked that at a renowned top of the line studio like ND, nobody took notice of the fact that fricken nametags go against the whole hide and seek concept. This multiplayer almost looks like it has been outsourced somewhere, the disparity between sp and mp is ridiculous.

The name tags stay visible for like 1/10th of a second after a player has taken cover, hardly enough to even be noticed unless your being anal. It's not like it stays up for a considerable period of time (see video at the 1 minute mark). If you are never visible and stay behind an object, it doesn't look like your nametag appears, so you can still hide.

@ 1:30 that doesn't really look like 1/10th of a second, more like 2 seconds. The enemy is relatively far away and you can still clearly make out where he is running to behind that wall. Gotta be "really anal" about it.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

Look at the man on the left. He is visible in the right doorway and then runs to the doorway to his left where he is visible again - do you think that is two seconds? In fact, when he runs back to the original doorway on the right, his nametag disappears during the time it takes for him to run from one doorway to another...

Looks alright, although i'll probably stick to solo most of the time unless there is a coop campaign

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

Around the 2:40 mark or so it looks like listen mode shows him where an enemy is. Plus some website that was playing the MP said yesterday that if you sneak around, it makes you not show up to people using listen mode wallhack perk.

You can still see very well where he is going to come out, which makes hide and seek, juking and whatnot rather pointless. It's still way longer visible than a 1/10th of a second like you claimed and the nameplate shouldn't show through terrain period.

Other links?Not working for me.

Take my love, take my land..

They seriously need to buff the bullet damage. 5 bullets to kill one dude is just too much.

Can somebody enlighten me on how this is awesome? I see a sub-par third person COD with overnerfed weapons... WHY couldn't we have a coop mode where the other person play as Ellie to cover Joel from afar with the sniper? THAT would have been awesome.

That's more like Uncharted multiplayer, this is like very slow paced counter-strike/search and destroy with looting/crafting.

Sounds fun to me, but damn did those rumours sound a thousand times better.

As I said earlier, your tag doesn't appear as long as you never become visible initially, so hiding is still highly effective. Besides, the concept of hiding usually doesn't include running behind a object when your enemy is watching you get behind that very object. That would make hiding pointless regardless of the nametag. Hiding is positioning yourself behind something before anyone sees you. Follow that and hiding will not be pointless, which should already be common sense really.

Yes, it was longer than 1/10th of a second. I miscalculated.
