Forums - Gaming - Think many here Underestimate the Impact of A Console Timed Exclusive (XBox1 Related)

This is true... (I mean it is hard to argue against factual numbers :))
Now I also agree that in the long run it will not make a huge difference; but it is better than nothing.

Around the Network

Were there any other things involved? Example, Elder Scrolls IV - Skyrim - ran and runs much better on a X360 than a PS3. That would directly effect sales.

Or controller problems? It seem many people preferred the Xbox Controller over the Six-Axis. (Which would have effected Elder Scrolls IV.)

Just curious, as I don't know, what other things might be involved.

Also, look at the exclusives of Assassin’s Creed III - that favored the PS3.

Otherwise, yes it looks like timed exclusives are important.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

You can look em up, but I myself remember that there were spikes for each of those 3 games listed. ME2 had a 360 bundle as well.

I remember that with Bioshock released, combined with a 2007 price cut, 360 sold more then PS3 in Europe alone, a first ever for the Xbox brand.

The games you listed...

Mass Effect 2 moved 30k consoles
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion moved 40k consoles
BioShock moved 20k consoles (more due the price cut)

I think we will see these boosts with these games even if they are multiplat... so the helf of timed exclusive is a little false to me.

Games help to sell consoles? Of couse but these timed exclusive means nothing.

Exclusives helps.

Bold is highly subjective. Think the hype and marketing (and the irritation to wait) would lead to higher system selling then if it was multiplat day 1. But agree to disagree.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Holy crap. I thought the games would have sold a lot less than they did on PS3. I was expecting about 20% of the 360 sales for a time exclusive. Thanks OP.
