 Well, I would not say they're giving them away if you have to buy a $3000+ HDTV. They have the same deal in US and I have a friend that bought a Bravia and a PS3 separate and actually saved money because he saved over 1k on the TV versus the SonyStyle retail price (You have to buy the HDTV from SonyStyle to get the free PS3).

Is there a possibility that vgchartz undertracked the ps3 slightly by around 10-15k in australia then?

Yeah, local newspapers have lots of ps3 for sale in the 2nd hand section. Ads read like "ps3 unopened came free with bravia hdtv etc"

I think very likely we've undertracked PS3 because of this.

Well, Sony is the only one who can pull a deal like this, being a huge TV manufacture as well. I suppose Microsoft can do "Buy a Vista ultimate with Office and get Xbox for free".

if they make it XP, I'd buy that.

I also wonder, do they count those PS3 as "pure cost" during financial statement?

I know 2 people that brought a BRAVIA and got a ps3. My friend is selling a ps3 40g for $600au :D They both brought for 40" which retails for $2800 - $3000Au.
