Retro made my favorite game of all time in Metroid Prime 2, Prime 1 is in my top 5, and DKCR is my favorite 2D plat. Prime 3 was pretty weak, but their talent is just pretty crazy to me. They made Metroid relevant again, with Prime which is considered to be one of the best games of all time. Whatever they're working on is going to be amazing.

agreed, it don't get any better than Super Mario World

 I debated Rol on this very topic and, while I love SM3, I too stand by the opinion that SMW is the better game.

I would credit SM3 as being greater than DKCR though.

Yeah i agree, although i perfered Super Mario Bros over Super Mario Bros 3 for some reason, but both are excellent games. Mario is not the same since it moved to 3D. Nintendo is still the best when it comes to platformers though

uncharted 3 - 91.78

Retro Studios

Metroid Prime - 96.35

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes - 92.05

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption - 90

Donkey Kong Country Returns - 87.87

Scores look rather even accross the board buddy!

Only thing is that Retro hasn't released anything in a while, whereas Nuaghty dog have the last of us coming out very soon. 

I have no problem with this argument in and of itself, but please for the love of God, Naughty Dog is not just Uncharted. They've been part of Sony since the PS1 era and their pedigree for both highly rated and commercially successful game goes a lot deeper than just Uncharted and The Last of US.

I never played a single Retro Studios game, but am pretty sure they are an awesome developer.

But Naughty is one of my favourite studios because they aren´t just milking their known franchises but are willing to take some risks with new games and concepts. Plus they are the by far the best studio Sony owns.

Maybe Rockstar, Bioware, Nintendo and even Retro are better in what they are doing. That I do not know, but Naughty dog has a special place in my heart thats for sure.

I think he was doing you and Naughty Dog a favor. You could add Jak and Dexter and Crash Bandicoot but I really doubt you'd want to add examples like Way of the Warrior, Rings of Power and Keef the Thief. Retro Studios 'worst' product is Metroid Prime Hunters but that already outscored three of Naughty Dogs more memorable games.

1) Naughty Dog pre-Sony definitly wasn't the same studio as after.

2) I wasn't arguing with him about the statement of quality from metacritic scores. I am just sick of people who thinks Uncharted is the only thing Naughty Dog has ever done.

So regardless, the point stands: For good or bad, Naughty Dog is not just Uncharted.

By ex devs from Naughty Dog, I assume you mean a temp artist that did a few months at ND, went to SE and then to Retro Studios.

I bought a gamecube back then because of: MGS:TW, RE0, RE1, Zelda:WW, BR: Primal Fury and Metroid Prime.

After playing all of them I sold Zelda, and Metroid XD.

So, for me Retro is not that good, but I know that I am the minority here.

I can't say I have ever really experienced any of Retro's work but I am definitely a fan of what Naughty Dog has brought to the table and can't wait to see what they will bring in the future.
