Publishers will not be fine with this system being on Xbox and not on Playstation. The major ones will all make some kind of equivalent DRM I'm sure.

The confirmation that internet isn't required for the PS4 confirms there is no DRM, at least not on a system-wide level.
| Heavenly_King said: haha! Awesome gif. I am quite sure Sony wont to this DRM crap considering what they have said and the following article: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=161334&page=1, but E3 will still be the hour of truth :D |
I know, right? Just don't thank me for it.. I stole it from a certain forum xD
I'm hoping Sony will just walk on stage at E3 and say, "you know what, fuck DRM" and blow us all away with a bunch of epic looking games.

Yeah, but it will be on software. So the people that says "I won't buy a Xbone cause of DRMs" can boycott the publishers pro DRM.
Ubisoft is really going too far with these by the way

Yea, here's another interview that has become forgotten with time.
"So I think two of the other pillars we talked about in-terms of design were simplicity and immediacy. Even taking back a step from here, PlayStation 4 can still be enjoyed old school without an Internet connection at all." - Michael Denny, Senior VP of Worldwide Studios

Well comparing to this gen in a somewhat similar area, EA had online passes for most of their games while Activision didn't, atleast not on their flagship COD franchise.
I think next gen will be similar. It'll be upto publishers and the outcome will vary with publishers, at least on PS4. At least the console itself isn't enforcing DRM from what it seems.
