99$ seems ridiculous considering MS is a business and very low profit margin with 99$. Comparing that with 199$ and 249$ with kinect. They probably make 100$+ on each. With 99$ it would be impossible to make 100$+.

??? So what? $ony sold the ps2 also for $99, they also didn't make $100 with each sold console. It is about selling the brand especially.

Sony probably made more off a 99$ PS2 then MS would with a 99$ 360.  But anyways since when has MS cared to sell their brand when it conflicts with high profit margins?

Perhaps $ony did, perhaps they didn't. We don't know. But anyways do you think spreading the Xbox brand is not a major goal for MS? Btw, at the beginning of every gen they didn't have high margins and they are still not healthy financially when it comes to the whole xbox-brand which contradicts your stereotypical thinking. Let them sell the box to whatever price they want.

Of course they would want to spread Xbox brand, but not for sacrificing profits in their Xbox Division. @bold We might assume the same for Xbox One, which means they would want profits from 360 to support the losses. They not being healthy financially with Xbox brand means they would want to keep higher profits. They can sell their box at whatever price they want, I just think $99 is unlikely.

Around the Network

I was surprised at the Xbox One reveal that they are going to continue to offer major support for the Xbox 360. If that includes a price drop, then it very well might keep sales up. Plus, there is supposed to be some big exclusive that they are going to announce at E3.

The Xbox 360 is close to passing the Wii in the USA. If they have a price cut or a big game, it will probably do that, which is quite and accomplishment for the console.

So with a major new game, advertising and a price cut, it could very well outsell the PS3. I do think the ‘blu-ray’ disadvantage is at play.

I wonder if they are going to offer a low cost X360+Kinect and really hit the family market hard. Plus it will look like a low cost alternative to the X1.

All of this isn’t good new for the WiiU.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

Sorry to say but many of you are completely delusional. There isn't going to be a $99 mark. Expensive is the new norm. If anything Microsoft has been showing us all with the DRM that they want to make their price points go higher and grab even more dollars.

Charge you to play online. Charge you for DLC. Charge you to borrow or trade. Charge you to sell used.

Where does all that make someone say they are going to get a price cut?

The new Xbox One is going to be $400+.

The old Xbox 360 will at best be priced at $200 and they might bundle a bit more with it.

You have a $199 and $299 360

Theres also a $299 and $399 Kinect bundle.

You drop it all by $100 and you still have a $299 360 sku.

Yes but the $199 Xbox is a barely function 4 gig mess. For the same price they could add a game or two and an actual hard drive.

I'm just not seeing it. $199 for Xbox 360 with HD and a few games. $250 for Xbox 360 with larger HD and Kinect. Maybe even a $300 option with two controllers, Kinect and a couple top line games. Then the stripped Xbox One will begin at $400.
