Thats exactly how MS baited gamers away fromm the Playstation and then left them hanging in development halfway through the generation. They know they need them and they know if what they deliver is good people will buy it.

How so? Xbox gamers have better multi-plats most of the time. Have Xbox Live, which they prefer over a crappier free service. And they gave Xbox gamers the most amazing non movie games, which were all blockbusters.

Microsoft will win next gen for sure. It'll actually be the first generation that they can chock up as a console sales win for themselves. The place that gaming has gone to is right where MS needs it to be. With the yearly Maddens and CODs they're sure to move the most consoles. People care more about online gaming than the bells and whistles that comes in the box. Oddly enough, I only play one game online and it's neither Madden nor COD.
As long as MS comes out the gate strong in the US they'll take a sizable lead in the beginning. It's obvious that Nintendo's classics and Sony's variety appeal less to today's gamers than XBOXs Call of Duty online community.

Ah, so this is why MS finished in last place this gen? Quite logical.

Thinking fan criteria = corporate criteria seems to be your forte.

MS can look at profits and market share gains in their own regard, never mind Nin/Sony, to be able to make their confident claims.

MS cares about profits more then marketshare....considering NA hasn't seen a price cut since 2008. PS3 has had $150 drop in the last 4 years by comparison.

Again....corporate criteria > ours.

Sure, but you're the one who brought it up?

Nintendo made more profit than MS and gobbled up more market share in the process.

Thus, evaluating the 3 competitors on that basis Microsoft still fails to attain the top position.

Again, not remotely comparable to the dominant position Sony was in with PS2 - most profit, astonomical market share, etc.

XBox One is nowhere near the disaster the PS3 was early on. MS will probably be making a profit on each unit from day 1 for starters.

Doubt full. Infact i'm being begining to wonder when they will profite from xbox has a whole. 400 million dollar NFL deal. Halo tv seriers, kinect and it just goes on and on. They spend the mony faster than they can make it.

Perhaps Phil Harrison wrote the whole "two jobs" thing for Ken Kutaragi to say!

/tinfoil hat

(I know, I know. Ken was insanely arrogant, but it's interesting the parallels that are being drawn between where Phil was in 2006 and where he is now).

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Please. Its not like they told gamers to get two jobs....

And Sony forced Katuragi to step down because of it amongst other things.  Go figure.

...how does that apply to what he said?

he never said the xbox one was/is a disaster

I stopped reading after this "Put off by Microsoft's increasingly anti-consumer attitude?"... Another article from a very biased writer :)

You're talking about yourself right? Becuase the writer is 100% correct. The Xbox One is very anti-cosumer.

You can't do....
You have to...
You can only....if....

Why is this always going back to "he is right, I'm right blah blah blah"...
Yes I'm biased, you are biased and he is biased. At least if you admit that it will be one of your first post which make senses in months.

He is right from all MS haters standpoint, but you know, whatever makes you happy :)

i would go with arrogant and bad attitude. the consumers are vocal for a reason.

and that reason is concerns.

Did you forget the original comment you replied to? It was about MS being in last place.

Your argument was based upon evaluating all companies, not MS evaluating itself.

I mean, I understand that you're attempting to back away from that original argument now that you realize how silly it was, but I haven't forgotten.
