I don't really prefer pure gameplay over cinematic games. But I think cinematic games should take advantage of the elements they're trying to express. Like in Infinite and this game, the co-player is a female you've to protect. But you only protect her in cutscenes, in-game she doesn't seem to exist at all. Make it add something to the gameplay: Protect your co-player as much as possible (ICO?). It can really add something to the overall game. It gives you a reason to care about her. Also the glitches are disturbing in beautiful games like this. Just take the time to take out the glitches. Mass Effect is another good example of a cinematic game doing it right.

In Infinite they kept emphasizing the fact that Elizabeth doesn't need your help and that she's more than capable of protecting herself.

even the most stringent xbox fan cannot argue against ps3 having the best games

And even the most stringent sony fan cannot argue Nintendo having the best games.

Why don't both leave that alone.

Yep i will.

I don't expect it to remain there, but I can see it keeping at least a 95.

i wasnt expecting it to go up. but atleast this rise would offest some other reviews that would pull it down. hopefully quarter to three can stop with their troll reviews and dont touch this.

anyways im happy that this got a meta higher than 90 so 95 or 96 or even 94 wont make much of a difference

So TLOU on metacritic on the home page says 96 but when you click it says 95 with 54 reviews.

And there is now 28 perfect scores!!

The home page on metacritic is the most recently updated data.

Alright so it legit went back up to 96?  Awesome.

And I miscounted. It's 27 perfects not 28

for comparion's sake, how many perfect scores did UC2 & UC3 get?

UC2 had 39 and UC3, I think, had 21.

*edit* UC3 had 24

Wauw... that's all i can say. Looks like ND pulled off another masterpiece, i guess this now makes them number one for the titles of best developer off this generation.

It also confirms when i said i do not wanting them to focus on a Uncharted 4, there is just so much potential there enough for multiple AAA+ ip's.

With multiple teams, they can now focus on Uncharted 4 and something else. Two birds, one stone.

I hope you're right. I did just read this on Gamespot though:

''but The Last of Us refuses to punish failure in a manner befitting the harshness of its world. Become overwhelmed and you quickly perish, but with checkpoints only a few seconds apart, the danger of expiring never dissuades you from recklessness. ''

Does that mean that the game is to easy? Because that would be kind of a dealbreaker for me.

@Bold have you played the demo?

No, the game is not easy by any means, at least when it comes to enemy encounters. You have to be prepared (shivs are priceless here) and plan. If you go rambo you will die if there are more than 3 enemies at once.

But you should play on hard from the go. The survival aspect is much better there (scavenging, backpack space, ammo, etc.), and the AI is better.

As for the really quick loading times, and frequent checkpoints. It's pretty much comparable to the Uncharted here, which I find great personally, I actually hate when there are few checkpoints and when I die I have to replay the exact same sequence as before, it's a major turn-off for me. And the game seems to encourage and reward stealth attitude and planning anyway, so you don't have to be forced to play it safe just not to replay the checkpoint for 20 minutes,

I didn't know the demo was available for everyone? I will check it out then.

Demo is only available for those who have GoW: ascension.

I knew this game was going to score big. From the moment they unveiled that first trailer, there was no doubt.

my faith in reviewers really isnt that high, specially when it comes to understanding story telling and story driven games. it always seems they are way over their heads when talking about story in games because they cant seem to understand proper story telling

thats why i didnt really expect something that high. also, this late in the gen it seems almost impossible to get a high scores. imagine if this released in 2009. i could only imagine how high the meta would be

What's Quarter to Three's score?

I fear an Uncharted 4 would turn out like God of War: Ascension: more of the same. I wouldn't mind a break from Uncharted.
