yeah I think 3rd parties will blink before Sony here.  They have made tons of money this gen (the ones that are pushing this) and it had no limits on used games.  If Sony is basically going with that argument and saying "good luck making as much money if you withhold your games from Playstation" then I applaud them because I think they can play that card pretty well.  The only way it could turn out good for them is if 90% of the current HD market goes to MS next gen because otherwise they're just cutting out too many buyers.

As my economics teacher always told me "If they ask for something, they are in the weak position", and well, what could EA do with only MS, if the core gamers all goes away ?

If I were Sony I would basically say "Look we've given you online passes but we need to sell consoles to sell games and you're going to see less sales overall if you implement these policies.  If you don't feel this way then fine, we'll support our console without you and we've got plenty of first and third party companies to get us a large userbase, which you could make some nice profit off of."

I think It's fair to want the competing console to suck just as much....

Yea they will probably implement it but leave the drm up to developers and since developers wanna sell and not piss off gamers they might as well not use it!

I hope they get the message
