Because its the popular brand in these regions and fans in these regions have the same false belief that Playstation fans had back in 2006, that people will just upgrade to what they know. Well the buying public is not as sheep like as people tend to think, im not saying the xbox wont carry on being the popular brand in these 2 regions, but its a new gen and MS need to fight for it as hard as last time, if they sit back thinking they have it sown up, it will slip through there fingers.

MS has TV and the NFL in addition to the same games PS4 does. It will win Murica. Who knows about UK.

I'm sorry this argument makes no sense. Microsoft doesnt have tv, you need to have tv in order to use the service microsoft provides.  And alot of people dont have that kind of subscription these days with the internet.  You can just hookup a laptop to your tv and there you go.  Its a nice feauture but its not the winning factor imo.

Of course you have to have an existing TV service to use the Xbone TV feature. Just like you need an Internet service to use Live or PSN. And in the US, bundles are extremely popular so many people with Internet have their television bundled through the same company. It's going to be massively successful in the US. Imagine if MS can get into agreements with any big companies to add in an Xbone console with certain packages or contracts. The potential money to be made is just disgusting.

Yeah but why would a consumer dish out $399(i think this wil be the price) just to watch tv on their tv. Makes no sense. Gamers dont care about the tv side of the xbox and those people are the people who wil buy the console first. Ofcourse as a gamer these extra features are nice, having options isnt bad. But take into account that for a non gamer 399 is too expensive just too watch television with voice command. And lets be honest here, this is a service of microsoft I'm 100% sure that you need to have a Gold Live subscription to even use the live TV service. So that's another $60 a year on top of the TV provider subscription. Its just too expensive and not worth it as a standalone.

Well we're talking about the entire generation not just the launch window at launch price. Plus, if they enter agreements with cable companies, the price would be a lot less for the customer. It's not really just "to watch TV" it's to watch TV in a new and better way. People buy stuff for entertainment purposes all the time. People already buy games and consoles knowing they'll need a Live subscription. If the service is good enough, this will be no different.

Who's everyone?

My reasoning for believing that the Xbox brand will once again take the US market is because a lot of young gamers over there, grew up with it and the things you grew up with tends to have sentimental value as you grow older. So usually, you tend to divert to what is already known to you.

Yes, I know the Wii still leads the US but I do not believe it had a lasting impact as the 360 did. This is of course only my opinion, I meant no disrespect towards the people who thinks otherwise.

I think they will still win in US but not quite the same margin at this gen so we will see. Still expecting a larger margin in europe for ps4.

Why? Easy, US consumers (most) are patriotic and UK consumers wanna be like Americans! Of course every other nations has their own patriotism, but no where big as US!!

And they are easily fooled by ads!

The USA is actually one of the least home brand centric countries in the world... as shown by our huge ass trade deficit.

Nobody in the US cares where anything is made outside union workers.
