Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

The design is important for me of course, but I'm a gamer first and foremost and it's not like a have a choice. If Microsoft would come up with more models of xbone I would probably choose another one, because the current one is indeed ugly for my taste.

From the look of the PS4 teaser, it may not be much better, which is a bummer but I'm not skipping its games because of it, that would be ridiculous.

The problem is: form follows function. If you remember the picture from wired with the big fan and the motherboard, they didn't have a big chance to build it another way.

exactly my point design and form factor follows function if you want power theres no way its going to be small, quiet, cold and reliable of course physical design is important lol aesthetics dont, if that was the original point though...

I don't care for what a console looks like. It's all about the technology of the console itself, and how well the machine performs. I do not understand the complaints about how ugly the X1 looks, or why Sony didn't show what the PS4 looked like. It doesn't matter what it fuckin looks like, is it on sale yet? NOPE.
