Forums - Gaming - xbox 1 was no surprise

It's absolutely hilarious how many gamers were outraged at microsoft's unveiling of the xbox 1. If you've been paying any attention for the past 10 years, then it wouldn't have surprised you at all. When microsoft first entered the video game sector (back in 2001), they did so with the intention of 'getting in your living room', kind of like a trojan horse idea to take over every room in your house. Xbox always had multimedia functionality (as did Sony), so it's kind of funny how many people are now saying 'i just want a gaming machine, i don't want all this other stuff'. I remember back in the day, Nintendo was the only one who didn't have multimedia, & they got criticized to hell for it. Now microsoft has made their intentions clear, they couldn't give a crap about gaming, they just want to shovel you with commercials and other ways to nickle & dime the consumer (take a look at xbox live lately). Microsoft doesn't give a damn about making exciting games- they'd rather just buy out 3rd party games. Microsoft just wants to get in your living room, they don't give two sh*ts about gamers, so don't act surprised by the xbox1.

Around the Network

Harsh but true, in the end Msoft is here just for the lulz of Mr. Gates
Sony is needed of good cash and thats why they push their gaming division, i really hope they dont get burned on the way
Nintendo has it clear, step by step, small but firm steps, and fousing on games and user connection

Nintendo is also the only 1 that is a gaming company first & foremost, they don't make tvs, cell phones, computer software, headphones, and other random electronics. For me, this is such a crucial factor, because it shows where Nintendo's intentions are. They focus on games, both software & hardware, which essentially makes them the primary company which innovates in the sector. Nintendo may be behind in terms of graphics, but they're lightyears ahead in terms of gaming R&D, innovations, and ideas. This is a HUGE difference.

I thought the conference was just to show about the features of the XBox1, I don't know why everybody else thought we'll get to see games in this, at all... The few we saw a surprise to me...
