Ahem, what exactly is your problem? I only stated that Notch is an important developer. Talk about overreacting...

That's cool, I have the utmost respect for his thoughts.

But did anyone hear from the guy that made Baby Maker Extreme? Really curious about what he thinks.

Ok, the last post just sounded a bit rude

Btw, I agree with you that the other devs are not really important (especially Phil Fish or whatever the Fez guy is named), Notch however is.

Still begs the question why did Minecraft go with MS and not Sony or Nintendo?

A company that cares so little about indie developers seems to keep pulling them in.

I was under the impression that XBLA used to be more open to indie devs? WiiWare was crap and I don't really know about PSN. But with the PS4 and WiiU Sony and Nintendo seem to have improved their policies regarding Indie devs while MS has not. IDK, I usually don't play indie games.

Its was more open to devs, but MS closed themselves up and became more stringent on devs and started making devs pay them to put games on Xbox Live and now its even worse, they cant even go on without a publisher now. MS keeps making their lives harder and harder. They dont understand nor care for the trials of developers without publishers.

This is totally wrong.  XBLA was never open.  You always needed a publisher to get a game on XBLA.  People are confusing XBLA with XBLIG.  Its the indie games were people could pretty much make any game they want and put it up there.  From MS lastest statements, XBLIG is not going away but instead they will not separate it like they do now.  All games no matter what they are goes under games.  That mean indie games will sit right there with XBLA games, Retail and downloaded games.  The problems Indies had with XBLIG is that it was invisible and separated from the other games so they got no recongnition.  This will not be the case anymore.

MS is keeping XBLA the way that it is because those games need to be funded with all of the advertising and other stuff behind the scenes that is needed.
