Forums - Gaming - will sony have less, the same, or more exclusives for the PS4 then the X1 in its first year?

how many games will PS4 have in its first year

15 10 6.85%

more then 15 84 57.53%

Look, people, this thing is dynamically decided. Noone will tell you when and how many exclusive games will actually appear in the first year. You do not spend $100mio each on creating your best games and throw them out to a user base of three, four or whatever low mio number of user base there is initially. Good games sell, at full price, to roughly 10% of the user base. Both companies will throw the fewest games they can get away with onto the market, because every aaa game in the first console year is a guaranteed monetary loss.

Well with all the indie games there courting, easily more, theyll reach 15 in a year pretty much just with first party

In actuality they will both have a few exclusives for the coming year, bout the same or PS4 having a few more.
MS simply does not have the internal manpower to pump out games of their own so most of what they will have will be from outside companies. Rare we know is coming with a game at E3

Thsi is what I'm most worried about. I don't want most of the 15 games for the X1 to be timed exclusives, as both Microsoft and Sony fans lose out.

Just to clarify did they say they had 15 first party exclusives or did they say exclusives? They could have more than 15 including third party which includes Quantum Break and Ryse.

More because they have more first-party studios... actually all of them have at least one PS4 game to be reveled.

It said 15 exclusives, 8 of which are new franchises. I just rewatched the Phil Spencer part to try and see if there was any more detail, and all he said was they have invested in studios around the world and have more games in development that in any other time in Xbox history. It is a bit vague.

MS said 8 will be exclusives.

Halo
Forza
Quamtun Break
Ryse (crytek)
Fable
Rare's new game
Dance Central 3
New Kinect Sports/Adventures

Thats your 8 games right there.

No, they said that 8 will be new exclusive IP's. There are 15 total from their first party studios within the first year.

On topic: I'd wait until E3 to ask this question.

The Witness isn't exclusive. It's a timed exclusive that will eventually come to PC and Xbox One.

What we don't know about the Xbox One exclusives is that are all these being released by Microsoft, or has Microsoft paid third parties to develop exclusive games for them like last gen. Microsoft only said that they're getting 15 exclusives within the year on Xbox One, and they'll probably get more, but that 15 doesn't necessarily mean they're from Microsoft.

That being said, I'd rather wait until E3, and while Sony might not put as many exclusives out, I think they'll get more exclusives overall the the Xbox One does.
