As we all know Nintendo teamed up with Sony in the 90's, before backstabbing them and thus creating PlayStation and Sony domination for 2 gaming generations. But that's some 20 years ago. Could these two bitter rivals ever team up again?

Could they make the ultimate gaming phone together to counter the increasing threats of Smartphones to the portable market? Imagine 3DS games on a Sony/Nintendo phone running in 1080p with the ability to output video to hdmi, or beam to Wii U tablet. And would we as gamers like to play Sony/Nintendo games on either of their consoles? Imagine to be able to play PS1&PS2 games on Wii U, or Wii U games on PS4.

This would surely be the megaton of the century, but will it ever happen? What's the pros and cons?

Nobody of the two have an interest in pushing the other party (except off a cliff) so why would they?

when nintendo broke away from the deal,pretending to manufacture consoles with philips(only a cheap trick to prevent them losing face as ee know how much effort(zero) they put in the philips console.

in terms of gaming the idea is not bad as you can combine mobiles with handhelds instead of carrying 2 devices and mobile games plays like shit as touchscreen doesn't work as soon as you want to play more than point'n'click adventures or games with more depth than pong..
A slider-mobile with two hidden analogsticks and buttons would be good,
but there is no compatibility for both platforms.One is missing an analogstick and a rear touchpad the other hasnt two screens and 3d.

I would love it because I would only have to buy 1 system then. Sony's online services and hardware prowess along with Nintendo's IP and Sony's first party would make an orgasmic system and may actually get me to buy a handheld too.
