I have to go with Little Big Planet. It will hit the biggest in Japan.

I believe that Echochrome for the PSN will have a good following.

well for me cult games are:
geometry wars, mario galaxy, super smash bros brawl, zack & wiki, bioshock, LBP, no more heroes, phantom hurglass and locoroco
i would say that: nights, paper mario, gears of war, skate, elebits, devy adventure, dead rising, hotel dusk, potapon and whole pheonix wright should be here too but they aren't so damn perfect(but still those are really great games) to be consider as such a cult titles.

Do you know the definition of"Cult"when it relates to movies or games? Pretty much every game you have mentioned are blockbuster titles, not cult classics.

Edit: Definition:  A Cult film or game "is one that has aqcuired a highly devoted but relatively small group of fans"

Hence, if its sold a couple of million copies, not really a small group of fans then.

Keep in mind to be cult doesn't mean it's a good game that sold poorly.

It means it's a good game that sells poorly but also has a rabid fanbase supporting.

I wouldn't count Folklore in the same vein as like Zack & Wiki due to the fack that the latter has fans so dedicated that they started a campaign to try and sell the game better.

True cult games are rare.

Yeah, you would probably find most of the cult games probably would be on PC, just because of the way those communities are able to form over the internet and all the user created content that comes later.

I remember hearing about some MMORPG thats been around for close to a decade now, and is still being played by its most loyal and devoted fans, forgot what its called though.

By the way, i think i would have to say its way to early for this gen to have any cult games, mainly because cult games and films tend to take a long time to get that way. They usually get their status and following through word of mouth, and spreads slowly.

Think of some movies you consider awesome that are cult films. How did you find out about them? Probably because someone mentioned it and gave ypu the whole "How the hell havent you seen _____?!?!" speech and then probably forced you to watch it yourself, which in turned you were drawn into the cult.

pheonix wright have strong fanbase. no more heroes share the same story as zack and wiki(low sales of a really good game and devoted fans who are trying to make this game popular). hotel dusk is one of those games that are great titles and nobody is playing them so i think this is cult game(same as elebits, nights and devys). why great titles that sells few millions can't be cult title? many people think that final fantasy is cult series. most of this games didn't even make to 500k:
devy - 70k
elebits - 250k
hotel dusk - 340k
nights - 120k
skate - 610k(combined ps3 and x360 sales)
zack & wiki - 200k
every phoenix wright sell about 300k-400k copies
loco roco - 120k

I often rely on buying games second hand, and usually those games - very popular, low sales - will get really expensive and hard to find after a while. I think most of the games you mention will be that kind of games 4-5 years from now.

Beware, I live!
I am Sinistar!
Beware, coward!
I hunger!
Roaaaaaaaaaar!

At least 62 million Wii sold by the end of 09 or my mario avatar will get sad

Actually we all forgot the biggest and most strange cult game of this generation: Ninja Bread Man.

Why this game has a following I have no idea because the game is a piece of shit but has a following nonetheless.

Viva Pinata
Earth Defense Force 2017
Chromehounds
Test Drive Unlimited
Blue Dragon

Most of those games have strong, obsessive communities of gamers. With the except of the pack-in VP sales, they've all sold semi-poorly on the X360 relative to other games....But are phenominal games in all of their own rites. TDU still has a online community despite being from mid 2006, Chromehounds sold horridly - but had a massive online community, and so on.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
